Ever since I was informed that I had to attend a business conference in Orlando I planned on making a stop in WDW for a much needed does of pixie dust. It's been a tough year and well I really needed the magic ;)

But life doesn't always bring what you need :sad1: My mom always reminds me that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and this trip - well I had to hang on to that statement......

First though I need to go back and remember something that led up to this trip.... My DF is not a Disney kind of guy (where did I go wrong :rolleyes1) but I get to travel to WDW with my DS and mom - both love WDW :thumbsup2 But my DS is now in the dreaded high school years so taking him out of school is not a good idea.... not that we didn't give it some consideration.... darn those expensive airline tickets :headache: So I ended up going with the work group and only being in Florida for the days of the conference....

Well I should have known when it took 4 restaurants to find somewhere that was open to eat when we got off the plane that it was going to be one heck of a trip..... It just got "better" the next day when I ended up being on the loosing end of a wreck :scared1:

Next up.... the one place no one wants to go especially away from home.... the ER

Oh crap - not the ER! Hope you didn't forget your insurance card and didn't have a long wait!:sick::eek:

Oh no a wreck and ER at disney... got my attention

Definitely the wrong way to start a trip! Our weather delayed flight on the way down should have told me something about how the trip was going to turn out :rolleyes1

Oh crap - not the ER! Hope you didn't forget your insurance card and didn't have a long wait!:sick::eek:

Yep, the ER - one of my biggest irrational fears :scared1:

Cant wait to read more:)

Thanks I'm working on the next section, but I'm in quite a bit of pain today so not getting much done  Hopefully this gets better soon :wizard:

I'm in!! Hope it wasn't too bad for you!

:wizard:I hope it all turned out well in the end. Our last trip in 07 included a trip to the ER. A week before we left for WDW my DH burned his leg at work. He went to his dr and was taking meds for it. A few days in the FL heat it didn't look good. I knew it was infected and he needed to see a doctor. We are riding on the TTA and I told him they must have a nurse. He of course being a man (HA, HA) said no it will be fine. I stopped a CM and asked about a nurse. They directed us to the nurses station. The nurse who was wonderful took one look at his leg and said you are going to the hospital immediately. He of course tried to argue for a second, but she put him right in his place. She arranged for security to take him to Celebration Hospital and even contacted our resort CR and arranged for the trip back. My DH insisted I stay in the park with our two DS. The nurse gave us a bunch of Fastpasses. It took him a couple of hrs and he was back at the resort resting. The visit cost about $800 ty insurance for picking up the tab. When we got home I got in touch with Disney and let them know how great that nurse was and we appreciated her help. Love that WDW!!!

Hi Minnie,

That avatar looks awfully familiar :rolleyes1

Yikes, sounds like not so good a beginning for a trip.
