  • January 2018
  • Two adults, both men (best friends)
  • A good beer selection is a requirement
  • Likely arrive sometime shortly after sundown for dinner
  • I will have TiW so any that accept it would be a plus
Considering Boathouse, Paddlefish, Frontera Cochina, Morimoto

Possible post dinner drinks at Ragland Road, Hangar Bar, etc and in no rush this evening. This is arrival day and I need to kill about 4-5 hours before the rest of my family arrives so something more slow paced and relaxed is preferred.

Thanks!

Frontera Cocina is a favourite of my husband (and me too!). They have great drinks, the food and atmosphere are great too, laid back and fun!

Do you know if they accept TiW? The Tables in Wonderland website seems extremely out of date and just don't know if the newer locations just don't accept it or if they just havent been added to the website.

Out of all the new places, I have only been to Boathouse (last June). Excellent service and food (and I think the decor is a real winner too). I can't comment on the beer selection because I did not peruse it. We are going back in a couple of weeks on one of our non-park days because we did really enjoy it.

We are also going to try Paddlefish, so I sadly can't comment on that just yet.

Interesting as I booked Frontera Covina today as I couldn't get an ADR at Homecomin' for dinner for a party of 18. I'm not really surprised as it was for Xmas week but is be really interested if you could tell me a bit more about Frontera Covina as I've never been or even heard of it.

TIA

Good beer selection?

Raglan Road has a beer flight.

For post dinner drinks, the Hangar Bar is nice, but Stargazers Bar has a large selection of beers and also has a beer flight.

I don't see a lot of comments about STK here but DW & I had a delicious meal there. I think a lot of folks might be put off by the DJ that starts around 6-6:30. He starts pretty low key but I guess he revs it up quite a bit later in the evening. DW & I went for an early dinner, the food was excellent and the DJ was not a problem--we were probably outta there by 6:30. The meat was seriously good and there were some sides that were amazing. IMO this place needs to decide it it's an upscale eatery or a club, they'd get a lot more traffic either way.:earsboy:

Homecoming is our favorite, accepts TIW, and we have enjoyed their beer options. We've also had great success with walking up and getting a table or grabbing seats at their indoor/outdoor bar. Morimoto is also awesome and accepts TIW but I can't order anything there except the Beijing bourbon tea (because it's so good!) so that I can't tell you about beers.

Boathouse does not accept TIW. Paddlefish had a limited number of beer taps and nothing that excited me, beer-wise, plus prices across the board that made me frightened :scared1:

I don't think they're on TIW but check out Polite Pig - they have their own beer taps from local favorite Cask & Larder as well as other local options. Certainly some choices we don't get here in Atlanta.

What we love to do is a "dinner crawl" - might be fun for two beer-loving dudes! We'll get drinks and guacamole at Frontera's to go window, stop for a Unibroue at the Daily Poutine, have shared apps/entrees at the Morimoto Forbidden Bar (upstairs, reservation not required), and get dessert and after dinner drinks at Homecoming. Substitute the outdoor bar at Raglan Road, Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar (both of which take TIW) or Sprinkles as desired.

Have a great time!

Oh this sounds FUN!-was looking for Cali grill reservation for a date night but I think we might like this better-and bonus is we are staying at SSR!
PS-this may need it's own thread to get ideas/combos of bars/restaurants!

House of Blues and Raglan Road are both nice restaurants. Not sure about beer selection at either, since I do not drink. At House of Blues, they have an outside sitting area with live entertainment. The Shrimp & Grits are awesome!!!!!
