my boss had two teddy bears made out her deceased mother-in-law's shirts. She will give her niece & nephew each a bear, one for a wedding, one for a birth. The Grandmaw (to the niece & nephew) always wore a sweatshirt with balloons on it with each grandchild's name on the balloon. she had the balloon cut from the shirt and put on each child's bear.


she needs a poem or some saying to give it to them with. all i have is soemthing like

this cute little bear was made just for you,
In memory of Grandmaw and her shirts
or

to keep her memory alive
This cute little bear was made from her shirts

but I know you guys can help. normally I am the "creative" one of the bunch, but since I had surgery a week and a half ago, not so much right now.

My BIL gave each of his kids a bear made from my Dear sisters robe after she passed suddenly..... he had one made for me too and I love it!

That was a great idea!! Very nice of your brother-in-law. My family saved my granddad's shirts (the ones he wore most) and planned to have a quilt made, well that hasnt happened. I will get her contact info and possibly do this for my mom and aunts and uncles...

Where do you get the bears made at? This is an incredible idea! Now I want to see if my grandma saved any of grandpa's shirts.

If you google memory bears.. you will find a lot of sources..
My BIL had his made about 14 years ago.. so i do not have the specifics..
