need a carrybag that can go on rides

I'm thinking about getting the Heys TravelMate. Here's a link to the description: http://shop.heys.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=tm01

They have a short video you can watch that gives you an idea of how the bag works -- it's a little cheesy commercial, but it shows you some of the features. This morning I couldn't get the video to load on the website - it loaded fine yesterday - you can go to googlevideo.com, type in heys travelmate, and load the video easy as pie if you want to see the commercial.

I think the best place to purchase it in the US is QVC.com-they have it for $19.95 plus about $5 shipping - additional bags pay 1/2 price shipping. It's a Canadian product.

If anyone has this bag I would love to hear what you think of it!!

I thought about getting the baggallini bon voyage bag but I think the strap on the TravelMate will be better for WDW - it keeps the bag a little more snugly next to your body-if you want it that way.

WOW. Ok i really like this bag, but their is no way I can drop 50-70 dollars on a bag. Seriously???!! Anyone know how to get one cheaper?? Or a similar bag??

If you like the baggallini messenger bag you can order it from from shoebuy.com or bagsbuy.com (they are the same site) with the code "save10" The code will give you $10 off your purchase price. They also have free shipping and free return shipping, so it makes it very easy to try out the bag.

When you go through the purchasing process be sure to register - this will save you another 10% on your order. With the code and the 10% your baggallini messenger should come in under $20 if you order the rip stop fabric. If you get the crinkle fabric it will be a few dollars more.

Another plus on ordering from them is they give you an automatic 10% discount for the next 60 days on any orders! You can also use the "save10" code on additional orders too!

I just discovered the shoebuy.com site yesterday and I placed two orders for a couple of bags for my DH to try. I was able to use the code and 10% discount on both orders.

We ordered the baggalini messenger and the crocs sling pack. For myself, I want something smaller - as I said in my other post, I think I'm going to order the Heys TravelMate.

I went to the site and found the one (two) that I have.

I have the small wallet bag, that holds an incredible amount of stuff for its small size. I am someone who likes to be uber organized, but I cannot bear to wear too much weight pulling on my shoulders.

I have twin boys, so I bring a backpack that holds drinks and a change of clothes and some "distracting" toys. But we usually have a stroller, and we leave that bag in the bottom of the stroller (or my DH carries).

I never take off the Baggalini and it holds all of our tickets, license, lipstick, comb, camera, wipes, pens, credit cards, money, etc. Anything of value is on my person, and the bag is so small it's easy to do rides or carry around for hours and hours. The strap is adjustable, I wear it long to cross my body (and I am 5'10") or you can shorten the strap and wear it as a fanny pack. My first one is lime green (!) and still my favorite.:thumbsup2 I bought a second one in khaki b/c it went better with my Halloween costume that I wore at MNSSHP last week. I LOVE, LOVE this bag.

I had this same question (a good/small bag for the parks) and today I found it- at LL Bean. It's called a Turbo Sling Bag, it was marked down to $14.95 from $39.50 (and I bought it at one of their stores, so I don't know how online availability is) but it's a very nice size. It will fit my camera (Nikon D40), other small items, and it holds a bottle of water on the side. It has the one strap that slings over you front, so the pack is on your back. It also has a strap so you can just carry it like a purse.

I think it's perfect for my purpose (and a good price) although I did really like some of the other bags recommended on this thread!

we bought the small compace camelpack backpack... we found one on sale for 20.00 and we also hike so it will be good for both disney and hiking. You can take the water bottle out of it and leave it behind and use as just a backpack.

I agree, $50-$70 for a bag is crazy...that's dinner at Boma for me and DD!! I always just take a regular backpack from home. I have never had trouble with it on the rides- usually put it on the floor of the ride and stick my foot through a strap so it can't slide out, or reverse it and wear it on my chest with the straps over my shoulders onto my back. I take a pack that has softer straps (the LLBean ones are too hard!) and is made of a fabric rather than plastic, as the plastic gets hot and makes me feel sweatier.

the last couple of trips I used an Overland Donner bag. I no longer use a stroller and it fit our essentials (ponchos, cell phone, sunscreen, money, tickets, bandaids, camera, a couple snacks)no problem. It also has a water bottle holder on each side. Easy to take on rides with you also.

I have a small mickey backpack that I use and I usually bring it on rides instead of making non riders carry it. ^_^
