Hello all,

I'm new here and have a dual question/dilemma. I'm currently serving in the Middle East so its hard for me to actually call Disney and get a quality conversation to get the answer, so any help is greatly appreciated.

1st, my wife, myself and our two best friends are due to go to Disney when I get done with this tour. Our second day there, we are going to the animal kingdom and have lunch reservations at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Villas. So my question is, how much time should I schedule for us to get from the park to the restaurant? I've read that Kidani village is off the beaten path, and takes some time to get to. I want to give us ample time to get to the restaurant. We would be taking the bus as we are staying on property (but could drive if the bus plan is to much a pain.) So anyone have a time frame I could game plan off of?

2nd, We are seriously debating the 3 hour African trek. Is it worth it? Because in order for us to do it, I have to cancel our Sanaa reservations to fit in the Trek. We want to get in some other things while at the park, so I dont want to have just a safari and then lunch. Its either the Africa Trek and no Sanaa, or enjoy the park and then lunch at Sanaa. We have breakfast and dinner reservations before and later that factor in my decision of having to outright cancel Sanaa to fit it in.

Sorry so long. I'm a long time reader, first time poster here on site, and look forward to conversing with you all. The wife and I are Disney fanatics, so I imagine I'll be popping in here often.

Thanks again

Jason

*EDIT*

After I posted, I realized I probably should have put this in the Animal kingdom thread. If a MOD feels the need to move it, please do so. Thanks a bunch!

Oops, sorry, I have no clue.

But I did want to thank you and your family for all of your sacrifices on our behalf, and to bump your thread up to the top of the list.

First I would like to thank you for your commitment in serving and protecting our country...

Question 1. - Great Restaurant... :thumbsup2 We love AKL.. one of our favorite resorts. It should only take 1 hour but give yourselves 2 hours. It will allow time to have a relaxing trip from AK park and AK lodge. You will not have to run and be watching the clock. When you get to the AKL, you can check in at the host stand to let them know your party is there, and then walk around and enjoy the resort.

Question 2. - The trek is very popular, really neat and there is no other attraction around to experience the thing you get from this expedition... BUT, IMO, I would just do the Kilimanjaro Safari so you don't have to rearrange your schedule. Remember - It's just my opinion.

OP may have different views and experiences to share.

Once again - Thanks for Protecting America.:thumbsup2

Thank you and your family so much for your service. We do not have a thread specifically dedicated to AK. I would suggest that you break your questions into 2 threads and post the first on on our Restaurants board and also include a mention that you are thinking of doing the Trek instead of the lunch and see if anyone there has any advice. Post the 2nd question on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for all the help guys and gals. We just decided to save the Trek for our next Disney trip, and keep the Sanaa reservations and have a nice long lunch. Cant wait to try that coffee. :thumbsup2
