I'm so overwhelmed!!! Having never been to Disney, I had no idea of the complexity of the area and ALL THE CHOICES!!!!

Anyway, our family of 4 is heading there in June for 5 nights. We want kids' sleeping area separate from ours, so I think a 2BR suite would work. A kitchenette would be nice, but at the very minimum I need a fridge (weird diet needs of my 8yr old son). I have searched the internet till my eyes are bloodshot and I have whipped myself into a confused frenzy! While we'd like to not spend more money than we have to, we don't need to save every nickel either. I'm going on reviews of past guests, and of course they vary.

I've been drawn to Staybridge Suites (Lake Buena Vista) and Quality Suites Maingate. I was curious about Homewood Suites, but I cannot find any reviews on it. I've also read about Oak Plantation, Advantage Vacation Homes, an Magical Memories Villa. Any opinions on those?

Are there any other places out there you can suggest? The rate I got for a 2bedroom suite at Staybridge was about 150/night. Within budget.

Thanks ahead of time for your help!

Have you checked www.vrbo.com for condos? There are some really nice ones, probably for less than $150/night with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen. We pay less than $150/night for a 4 bedroom vacation home. I'm sure some others on the boards have additional ideas for you. Do you have a vehicle for your stay?

We are consistently able to rent timeshares from private owners at the Marriott Vacation Club properties (Marriott Horizons, Marriott Cypress Harbour and Marriott Grande Vista are the nicest we think) for about $100/night for a 2BR as long as it's not "high" season. We got a 3BR last fall at Hilton Grand Vacation Club Sea World for less than $100 night. Ebay is my favorite resource.

Well, thanks for the quick replies. That VRBO site was fabulous. I hadn't even thought about renting a condo! I don't know why it didn't occur to me. That's what we do when we go skiing out west! Duh.

We will have a car rental.

Thanks again for your help. Keep the suggestions coming!

We stayed at the Marriott Grande Vista about two weeks ago by renting from a timeshare owner. We paid $1,000 for a 7 day stay. This was a two bedroom suite, two baths (with double jacuzzi), two balcony (one screened in with fan/light), full kitchen & washer/dryer in the unit. It easily slept eight. The property was beautiful as was the interior... I felt like I was in an upscale hotel. There are 7 pools I believe, a kids activity center, a beach, sports, a golf course, paddle boats and surrey bikes all on site. I am a die-hard on site Disney stayer, but this visit has changed my mind forever. I don't know if I could go anywhere else....

Just google timeshare rentals & you will find a lot of sites where owners list their timeshares. Look for one that is endorsed by the BBB & you should be good.

I can't say enough about this property, it was fantastic....

Wow, thanks for the help. We found a beautiful condo that seems to perfectly suit our needs, and is a great deal to boot! Just faxed the rental agreement/ payment info to the owner, so the lodging is set. And the money I saved over the hotel I was considering is more than enough to upgrade to a nicer car. And since my husband as ALL ABOUT CARS, he's a happy camper.

:)

Now I'm getting REALLY excited!!!!!

That's great! Please provide a review of your condo when you get back. It's always nice to know which ones are recommended by others. Have a great time!

We had kind of the same issue. Check out Bookit.com: I found a lovely two bedroom suite, with full kitchen and dining area and balcony for $89 a night! at Bahama Bay Resort and Spa (about 12-15 min. from disney) wow!
The reviews are back and forth on this place, but from the pictures and the reviews on tripadvisor.com, I am confident this place will work for us :yay:
I am not sure if they have the same discount in June, we are traveling in may, but give it a shot. I too searched and searched for a suitable suite for my husband and I and then my dad and his new wife for EVER! Till I found this one. Was very happy, hope it might help you :)
