need a 1 TS in a resort (non-buffet)

Hi! I am looking for a good 1 TS restaurant for our HS day. I am not impressed with any of the HS restaurants, so I thought it would be best to go elsewhere. At first I was thinking of Yachtsman Steakhouse, but I can't guarantee that my daughter will behave properly after a day in the park. My husband doesn't care for buffets and I already have a few planned, so I was looking for a non-buffet. We don't have park hoppers, so..
We already have the following on our list for dinners:
Whispering Canyon
Le Cellier or Tepan Edo
T-Rex (OOP)
Ohana

(The buffets are breakfast and are Tusker House and Crystal Palace)

I was going to do a Fantasmic Dinner package, but now know that there isn't a Fantasmic on the night that we are planning on being there.

Would love your recommendations.

Kouzzina has just opened and is getting very good reviews, you could take the boat from HS to the boardwalk.

What about the Wave at the Contemporary. I have heard the food is great. Or, if you are coming from HS, why not take the boat over to the Boardwalk and try Kouzinna? It's where Spoodles used to be.

I guess I didn't realize that there was a boat to Boardwalk from HS. I was concerned that Kouzinna would be a little bit to different for my husband, but I will check out the menu again. I had considered the Big River Grilling Co (??), but they don't take ADRs and I read they were really small. Where do you catch the boat at HS? Does anyone have any input on any of the other restaurants at the Boardwalk. That was one of the places I really wanted to check out due to the Christmas decorations!! What would be the easiest way to get back to POP from there? Thanks for all of the GREAT input!!

I love Turf (saratoga springs) and Olivia's (old key west). Love them. Olivia's is a bit more laid back, but Turf has way better desserts and appetizers.

What about Captain's Grille? It's right next to Yachtsman's Steakhouse, and unlike Yachtsman's, which is 2 TS credits, CG is 1 TS credit.

I suggest Grand FL Cafe and Kona Cafe. Both are 1 TS and serve very good food.

My votes would be for either The Wave at the Contemporary (so good!) or give Kouzinna a try (I haven't eaten there though). Also Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club is fun!

I Where do you catch the boat at HS?

When you are leaving HS, instead of veering right towards the busses, go left and you'll see the dock.

I would recommend taking the bus to Poly from HS to have supper at Kona Cafe. After you eat you can take the monorail to the MK and catch the Pops bus back to your resort. If you do a restaurant at Boardwalk you could try and return to HS if it is still open and catch the Pops bus otherwise you will have to take a bus to DTD and then catch the Pops bus from there - a good hour to 90 minute trip - maybe a taxi would be the better solution if you eat in the Boardwalk area. Should not be very expensive as Pops is located very close to Boardwalk.

Thanks for all of the great ideas. I will be off to check the menus of your suggestions. That was my concern is that it would be easy to get to the Boardwalk, but hard to get back to Pop afterwards.

We will be having dinner at the Captain's Grille on our HS day. We'll take the boat. After dinner we'll take the boat back to the HS parking lot. (We have a car.) You could do the same thing to catch the bus back to POP. Buses run for 1 hour after the park closes so you just have to plan to finish in that time frame. Or if the timing is a concern, plan to go at lunch time - it will be a nice break from the park.
