I need a 50th Anniversary Gift for my In-laws.

We arte throwing a party, so I am already in several hundred dollars there. I just think we should have something as a gift. They do not NEED anything.

Any suggestions?:confused3

Thanks!

Restaurant Gift Card
Theatre or Event Tickets
Local area tour tickets
Gift Card to their favorite store
Passes to the local museum

For my parents' 50th, my brother, sister and I got them a digital picture frame and filled it with a TON of our own families' photos that our parents did not have.

My sister had us scan and send her files of our photos. She then loaded them on to a nice fram (less than $100) and also created CD's for us to have.

My parents were amazed with the gift, and its one of their most treasured things. Including photos we knew they didn't have is what made it more magical.

For my grandparent's 50th, my mom had everyone invited write a letter to them. She had them all bound in a lovely book and they treasured it.

I agree with some of the previous posters. Either a gift card for activity/recreation/dining or a digital picture frame.

My parents celebrated their 50th back in October. My mom said she wanted a party or for all of us to go on a cruise (there are five kids and 17 grandkids).

Well, we had the party for 150 of their closest friends with light snacks and for the "gift" we surprised them with a 3-night cruise - 22 of the family were going. Very hard to coordinate.

Other than the party and the cruise, their favorite "gift" was a donation someone made to their favorite charity in their name.

We did family pictures for my grandparents 50th. My SIL did a scrapbook for my DH's grandparents 50th.

My grandparents really appreciated their friends who made donations to the Shriners Childrens Hospitals in their name for their 50th. My grandpa was a Shriner and drove many trips to the hospitals transporting patients or their family members.

i vote photo gift. someone in my stepfamily makes these great photo dvds with music and backgrounds, i have no idea how he does it but when he gives them out at family parties everyone loves it, and sometimes people even cry seeing the old photos set to emotional music. if you are not that savy you can have old photos restored. for my grandparents we had old photos scanned, restored, and printed. it was a garden party so we strung them up and hung them with clothes pins. everyone enjoyed viewing them and they were happy to have the updated prints of their wedding photos that had been crumbling with age.

My in-laws 50th anniversary party is coming up in a few weeks. I'm into digital scrapbooking (Heritage Makers) so I made them a 23 page storybook using photos and writing text. At the end, I left a few blank pages so guests could "sign in" (or write a few words) at their anniversary party. Because it's digital, I can order extra copies for any family member who wants their own copy.

Photo gifting and the digtal scrapbook are great ideas. I also quite liked the idea of getting all near and dear ones to write letters for the occasion and then compile them all into an album/diary.
