Need 1st Night Resort Dinner Recommendation

Can someone recommend a good first night dinner at one of the resorts? We get in early evening but don't have a park ticket that day. We are staying at Contemporary but would like to go to another one of the resorts that's easy to get to. Ohaha isn't available. Any other suggestions?

Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. You can take a boat from the Contemporary.

Whispering Canyon is good. Trail's End at the campground is a great, home style buffet.

We loved 1900 Park Fare at the GF. Very good buffet. It's Cinderella, Prince, and Stepmother/stepsisters. The characters are hysterical!

We love Kona at the Poly. You can get some great food there, get the feel of the Poly (and Ohana) and there is usually plenty of availability. Plus it's on the resort monorail - a nice fun ride from the Contemporary.

Hoop Dee Doo Review at Ft Wilderness is fun, we did it for the first time this past visit, easy boat ride from the Contemporary too

Artist Point at WL and Citricos at GF would be our first choices!

If you are up for a boat ride than definitely artist point over at WL. Otherwise, how about an elevator ride up to Cali Grill?

We favor Kona Cafe over Whispering Canyon....I might be tempted to try trails end though? There are vastly differing menus at all restaurants suggested so definitely give them a look to see what would be a good first night!

Personally I would not book a TS meal on arrival night that has a cancellation penalty. You say you arrive early evening. How are you travelling? There are so many potential delays on travel day that are totally out of your control. I would not want to be worrying about missing an ADR and paying $10/person. Plus travel day is very tiring. I would just unpack and settle in at CR.
But if you still want to travel I would second Trails End at FW. FW is great and the food is good.
