We are staying onsite for our trip but we are now planning on getting to the Orlando area the night before (we're driving) and need somewhere clean and cheap for 1 night. Are we better off looking in the WDW area or Kissimee or ?? Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you ever tried priceline for getting a room? there is alot of information on getting a 4* room at a great rate on these boards. Just do a search for priceline. We bid $55 for a 4 star in the WDW vicinity and got the Wyndham Palace in DTD. We loved it!

We always get someplace cheap on our arrival night and stay onsite, one of the best money saving tips we have gotten from this board!

When are you going?

We're going June 2nd (checking into FW on 6/3). I've tried Priceline once but we are traveling with my parents and our 2 kids so I'm not sure how to request 2 rooms and since they don't guarentee 2 beds I'm nervous about it...Can you bid for 2 rooms?

I was looking at hotelkingdom.com after reading about it on here so I might try that.

Bid for 4 star in the wdw area. The only ones are swan and dolphin, marriott World center, and wyndham. You cant go wrong as long as you stay in the wdw area with 4 stars. If you dont get your first bid, add the florida mall area -- there are no 4 * hotels in that area and raise your bid by 5 or 10 dollars.

Yes you can bid on two rooms, and if you get one, just sign up for their fequent guest program, all of them will guarentee your requests!

Since you are traveling with seniors, why not try HIFS.. two private queen beds and one pullout couch, plus free bkfst. for everyone. You would be entitled to the senior rate, which is a really good deal.

BrerRabbit: I don't think that anyone has gotten the Swan & Dolphin on Priceline in a long time (9-12 mos or so?)

Sorry if I confused anyone. I was just trying to say that there are only four 4* hotels in the Disney World vicinity acoording to priceline. I personally would be happy with any of them for our arrival night, as in the scenario above. Whether the S/D were available or not, all are close to WDW, all are great hotels, and all offer a frequent guest program that will do their best to get you your requested room.

There are 5 -4* hotels in the WDW area.
In addition to the ones mentioned, Swan, Dolphin, MOWC and Wyndham there is also the Hyatt in Dountown Disney.
If you need help, here is the priceline website that Sheryl administrates:

Hope this help you to decide!

BTW -I've used priceline several times and have gotten 2 adjoining rooms- so its possible.

The fifth 4* is the Hilton in DD, not the Hyatt, and it is a property that allows only 4 people per room.

Yes, you can bid for two rooms and for one night, you may want to go 3* instead of 4 even.

Good luck!

We reserved a room for 1 night through Hotel Kingdom for Comfort Suites Maingate East. The price was $67.50 before tax. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this place again - in fact, I'm sure we will in the future. It was VERY clean and pretty and bright. The rooms were huge - biggest hotel room I've seen - there are 2 queen beds plus a pull-out sofa bed which looked queen-sized as well. There was also a little "kitchenette" with microwave, sink, mini-fridge and coffeepot. Plus a free deluxe continental breakfast in the morning. The pool area was very nice and well kept as well. I highly recommend this hotel. It is on 192 - not sure of exactly how far from Disney since we only stayed there our first night.
