Any advice on where I could find these besides the parks? This is a last minute trip while on my drive down to Miami to visit family.

Thanks for any input.

I may be wrong, but I don't think they offer a one day park hopper..I only have ap's so it's been awhile since I purchased anything but that...you can try looking on undercovertourist.com though...we did get tix through them before we joined dvc and got the discounted aps

You can get a 1 day park hop ticket, but you're talking like a 100$ fot it. If you visit family in Florida, it'd be worth it to get a 5-10 day non expiring ticket instead. Much much cheaper than a 1 day ticket. Overall at least...

If you can get a one day PH, the cost will be around $180! ($80 for the ticket and $100 to PH). You can't just buy a multi day ticket without PH and use more than one day's admission to get into different parks on the same day, the tickets won't allow that. You would have to buy two separate one day admissions that aren't linked together on the same ticket and that would cost you around $160! If you were going to try and hop to 3 or all parks, it would be cheaper to get the one day PH, if you can...but I don't think you can.:confused3

I was just in WDW 2 weeks ago & asked if that was an option & was told they do not sell a 1 day park hopper to the general public. I'd have to buy a separate 1-park 1-day admission ticket at each park I wanted to enter. Cha-ching! I decided to spend the entire day & night at Epcot!

However, I do know that there are special circumstace 1-day park hoppers available. I also cashed in an old Guest Pass from 9-11-01 & they gave me a complimentary 1-day park hopper for use that day only. I also met up with a friend's son who is a CM & he was able to get me a complimentary 1-day park hopper, again only good for that day's use.

I wasn't suggesting the OP buy a multi day ticket to try to use all in the same day, I know that's not possible. I was just stating that if the OP plans to visit the family in Miami every so often, it'd be well worth the few extra bucks to get a multi-day ticket, so when she does come down, she doesn't have to pay 131$ to visit the parks for a day.

I would never spend a 131$ just to visit disney for the day. Thankfully being a florida resident we can get play 3 passes for 125$... or annual passes... or other things that are much much cheaper.

I'd suggest trying to find a CM that would give you an extra comp ticket. Good Luck with that.

1. The places that sell discounted tickets do not discount one or two day tickets; they are charged full price by Disney and normally add they a premium.

2. Any MYW base ticket can be upgraded to a park hopper for $52 (plus tax). It does not matter if it is a one day ticket or a ten day ticket.

In 2006 we had decided to do that. One day and adding hopping.
What a financially dumb idea. We got to do so little. Spent the time in transit. Longestics just ate up all our precious moments. older dd and ds wanted to do Epcot and then the late night at MK. Youngest dd wanted the animals. We started at AK, then to Epcot to meet the others. Did about zilch there two things then needed to get to MK. Found out late night most attractions close, We did get to do the Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and some of fantacy land. Then crowds filled in these areas and lines and aggrivation

I will only get a 2 day pass anymore and spend each day for what time I would have. The cost would be more, but what I would have had in relaxed time instead of fretting to get a move on, and seeing so litlle is worth it.

If the $$ is that much of a deal breaker, I will spend one day at the park of my choice and the rest for another return trip.

Thanks everyone for responding.

I was born and raised in Miami, went to Disney about 3 times a year, got married and moved to Texas.

I am so used to getting in free, or paying Fl. Resident prices, that when I saw the prices for non-residents, i almost flipped out! I have a 20 month old now and of course I want to take her as much as I can.

The 5 day ticket option with no expiration might be a good idea since I will be traveling at least once a year for Christmas. Thanks again for all the input. I knew I would find some good answers here.....

I have family in Orlando. Any idea of they could purchase tickets for me? Or do they physically have to be there?

For any adult ticket purchased, you much physically be present with FL ID in order to get the resident rate. Now when your daughter is 3, your FL family can buy a child's ticket at resident rate with no ID for the child. I was in line at guest relations the other day to get Disney Dollars, and there was grandma and grandpa renewing and buying annual passes for the family. They were able to renew the annual passes for themselves, buy annual passes for the grandkids, but couldn't do anything but buy vouchers for the kids. Then the kids would have to show ID to get the actual ticket.

You don't by chance have a non-dated college ID card??? That would work too. And if you've got family here in Orlando, it shouldn't be that hard for one of them to come across a CM with some extra comp tickets for your once a year trip to Disney.

These are the official rules:

Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and cannot be purchased for out-of-state family or friends.

An adult Florida Resident may purchase Florida Resident media for more than one Florida Resident from any location that provides an exchange certificate and not an actual ticket.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency

If the Guest has an exchange certificate, a valid form of Florida ID will be required when the exchange certificate is redeemed for the actual pass

One ticket only per valid proof of Florida residence (a Florida resident may buy tickets for minors in the party)

Exchange Certificates may say:

"After sale..., may not be transferred except as a gift." This means that the certificate may be given as a gift, so long as the recipient meets the defined Florida residency criteria.

"Purchase and redemption of this exchange certificate requires proof of Florida Residency."

The following items are the only documents accepted as proof of Florida Residency:
* Valid Florida State Drivers License
* Valid Florida State issued ID Card with Florida Address
* Valid Florida Voter’s Registration Card with the Guest's name and address with corresponding photo ID
* Valid Florida University / College Student ID
* Valid Military ID stationed at one of the Florida Military Bases listed below:
(List of bases removed as unneeded)
