Nedding preference?

I've just started trying Nedding. I have a question. When you Ned are you actively ramming your boat from side to side, or do you just let it run without any input until the game is over? Sometimes I ram into things, but when I am busy I just let it run and click over every so often.

What do you do? Any tips?

Hi ReadingBelle!

I'm merely an amateur Nedder.

*Let me pause to say that one of my favorite VMK-isms is that the word "Ned" has become a verb, and is still taking on other grammatical forms. I Ned, you Ned, he/she/it Neds. I think only RoxanneFF has claimed to have "Nedded." Me though, I am only a 5th degree Ned-ite.

Anyway, when I Ned, I smash that boat to high heavens against any smashable surface. My favorite, though, is to hit the rocks then the sides. I usually only make it to the Tiki Room room.

I have two methods of Nedding...first, if I am busy at my computer doing other things, I will open another browser window for VMK and just let my character run the course with no interference from me. If I want to speed-Ned, then as soon as my guy gets in the boat, I back him up a little to the little left jog in the dock, then just hold down my left arrow key. He crashes away the left side of the boat again the dock and can burn all his gasoline in less than a minute.

I do both. If I am watching something on TV I go Nedding against the rocks. If I have house work to do. I start the game and go about the work coming back every 5 minutes or so to start again. Seems a waste to not earn some credits while I have to clean the house etc. The first way to Ned is the best. Bring in the most credits in the least amount of time. I can usually do a ned cycle in about 1 minute and 30 seconds though I am sure others can do it faster.

Happy Nedding roll up roll up the worlld's famous jungle cruise leaves momentarily......

I do a little of them both too.
Depending on what else I'm doing, I'll let it run and cook/clean around the house and then hit start again as I walk by the computer. If I see it almost near the end I may help it along by crashing. The only thing I hate about that is when someone has asked you something or said hi on the game, and you missed it. I hate to seem like I'm ignoring people if I missed it.
If I'm at the computer doing other things, I'll do more crashing.

My favorite method is to back the boat up a little and then keep the left arrow key pressed down. It keeps ramming you into the dock under the bridge, so you never have to enter another room :)
I have a rock I just sit on the left arrow key of the laptop. So I can put a character Nedding, while I'm out playing pirates on my computer :)

Oh, it was GBShorts who created the phrase :) I just like it so much, I ran with it.

Wow, Roxane, a rock! That is a level of diligence I hadn't even considered. Verrrrry interesting...

I actually like to play Ned so if the high scores have room for scores in the 55,000 range, I play and get the 100 credits. If the high scores are higher than 55,000 or so, I just start Nedding. It's not worth playing the entire game just to get 20 credits. I wish they'd bring back the 50 credit award if you get over 40,000 (I think it was that).

My main method of Nedding is to back up as soon as I get in the boat. I hold down both the right arrow and down arrow keys so I'm smashing as I'm backing up. Once I'm behind that clump of palm trees, I just hold down the right arrow key until I have smashed the boat to smithereens!

If I'm doing something else, I just let Ned run (See Ned run. Run, Ned, run.) and end up ignoring people like Chickysmom who come up and tap my shoulder to get my attention. :rotfl:

I also have the sound shut off for my character. That speeds up the performance of fireworks and Ned in the intended mode. I'm guessing it speeds up the crash performance too.

Hi I like to cruise the DIS threads while I am nedding. I

n fact I am nedding right now!

I also like to take pictures of myself on the boat instead of the animals! :rotfl:

When I am in a hurry I just crash into things, but my computer seems to crash when I crash...lol :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:
