I've never used a cooling neck wrap before and ordered a couple for our trip. Well they came and it just seems like it's really skimpy on the beads inside. Does it really work with a handful of these inside? I don't have anything to compare it to.

Yes, they really work with a small number of beads. You will be surprised how much those few beads swell.

Yes, they work. If in doubt, soak them in a sink full of water. Once they get good and wet you can actually see them grow. It is amazing.

They take a few days to dry out again.

I got one at a sports store for my trip, and it just looked like a thin little bandana when I bought it. Ended up using it everyday at WDW- believe me, they swell up nicely! It was a lifesaver.

I think they absorb something like 200 times their volume. So, those few little beeds will swell up to fill the whole area with gel.

Thanks everyone! You guys were right - there were plenty of beads in the wraps! We just got back and used them during the parade. Great idea!

They really do take a long time to go back to normal though mine have been hanging in the bathroom for 3 days and are still big! Anyone have ideas on how to get them dry fast?

Hang them in a sunny window if you're in an area that's already getting cold - or put them outside in the sun if you're in an area that still has warm days.
