I started looking at neck fans for our next trip. Normally I have always used a clip fan on the stroller but those days are limited as we went from a double to a single for this trip.

I found a video that did a great run down on most of the top options:

I went with the ChillGo option:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D25ZKCTR

I haven't fully used it but I have tested it and seems like its going to work fairly well. It really moves some air and you can angle it as well which it seemed most of the others you couldn't. It doesn't have the "AC" in it but it seemed like if you used the AC it would die in a couple hours so it might not even last long enough then.

I will try to remember to come back to this post later in July after our trip to outline how it went.

If you still have a number of trips left with a stroller then the clip fan we got was really good for a couple of years:

The kids are going to have little foldable fans that I dont have the link to but I will try to post that and what they thought as well.

So what do I think after 2 weeks in July?

I think the neck fan I purchased was a good deal and I don't think buying a different neck fan would be better as the airflow was great on it. The only downside is it didn't have the A/C built in to it like a couple of the expensive models which I think I might look at in the future even if the battery is worse.

Surprising benefit? My girls tried it and while one had issues a couple times with their hand held fans tangling in their hair this didn't get any hair tangled in it all when they used it. They liked it when they were using it.

The battery on it is crazy good and I could see someone running it on high for a long time but for me I think the lowest it ever got from a longer day was like 50%.

I did like it more than using the towel because it didn't get me wet. That being said if you are good with a towel that likely would keep you a tad cooler and can be used to block the sun on your head (I mostly where a hat though when in the parks). When you step in to the AC though the fan really sucked it up which was nice.

I think it was a good buy for the trip but I might keep watching the A/C Neck Fans to see if they ever drop in temp on sale then snag one of those.

Each to their own. Personally I find cooling towels are better for me.

They work if you rotate them in but I find at a certain point the cooling towel just ends up as warm water against your skin and doesn't help as much.

We typically throw some of them in the freezer in our room then in to our water bottle bag that has ice.

Good option as well.

Stopping by to say I love this guys channel. I find myself watching videos on what’s the best impact drill… I don’t use drills myself but it’s still fascinating. I will have to watch this one.

I have ones from Costco. They work well but I wish they folded to be more compact

The brand I got really folds down which I can see as a benefit when we start packing our suitcase coming up.

Can someone recommend some good cooling towels? I have my mini fan but im going to need some major help for September.

Any recommendations of anything to keep cool is appreciated!

Frogg togg cooling towel

I’ve never had a neck fan last the whole day they are always dead by like 2pm when I need them most.

This one lasted a long time I will say.

I updated with my review and never had a single time where I was worried about the battery not lasting me.

We used cooling towels for years and just purchased the two pack neck fan from Costco a month ago. I did not like the neck fan. It didn't cool me as much as my towel and it gave me a headache due to the extra weight on my shoulders combined with my small sling bag. If you are prone to tension headaches due to neck/shoulder muscle tension, I don't recommend them. I immediately switched back to the cooling towel in less than 30 min of wearing the neck fan.

I just returned a neck fan to Amazon. It was fine for cooling, but I have a rather short neck and it interfered with turning my head. It was supposed to be adjustable, but this one I couldn't seem to get it to stay in the adjusted position. I'll stick with my DVC cooling towel for my October trip.
