We experienced this back in September 2002 - -
In the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe (I think that's what it's called) in Liberty Square my DD was the first child to visit the store one day. A CM came up and asked her if she wanted to decorate the store's Christmas tree. She was given a basket of ornaments and got to hang them on the tree. There was a framed sign on the tree that read something like "This tree decorated by ..." and they wrote my DD's name in it. It would stay there for the entire day (and another lucky child would get to decorate the tree the next day and so on). And, the really cool thing was DD got a cute Mickey Mouse head-shaped ornament for free and they even personalized it. I don't know if they still do this but it was really neat.
We got to wake up Tink in 2004. It helped that we had an 8:05am CRT ADR so we had a jump start on the crowds. I felt bad because right after the CM greeted us and asked DD if she was there to wake up Tink a woman and her 2 daughters came running into the store all out of breath. The daughters didn't seem too upset that they weren't the 1st ones there but the mom sure was! She asked "did you have breakfast in the castle?!?" ..... "we've been waiting at the front gate since 7am!" .... ugh, made me feel bad! We have an 8:05am CRT ADR this year too and DD asked if we were going to wake up Tink again. I told her no we are going to give another little girl a chance to do it since we already had a turn.
