I saw these over on 2Peas last week, and thought they were absolutely adorable and would make neat embellishments. And while I was hanging out with wdwmickey and MusicalDisneyDreams at Archiever's today, I was telling them about them, and then we bought the Martha Scoring Board, so now I am going to make some.

But they are paper medallions. You start with a strip of paper, edge it with a border punch, score and fold, glue together, add something to the center, and viola! It seems like a good way to use scrap paper (what else do you do with the 1-3" paper strips you trim off to use the larger piece of the paper) and those border punches.

I first saw them, in this Pea's gallery: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/userprofile.asp?user_id=23047

And then I found YouTube videos.

They ARE very cute, and the ms scoreboard will be much better for that than the scor-pal because ALL the channels are 1/8 inc apart.

very cute, I think I will try them for my Flower/Garden LO's! thanks for sharing!!

BTW, how close are you and Cheryl to Colo Springs? we have some friends who moved there this summer and hope to be able to go visit them sometime soon.

I just used this technique for my Magic Kingdom Opening page. It worked perfectly with the swags that hang from the railing by the train!!

Lisa--Rachel and I are about 90 minutes north of Colrado Springs. Hope is a little farther north than we are.

Hope--I tried making these and they are so easy with the new scoring board!!!

That's not too far away then....if we get out there some day, will definately let you ladies now!

Those are very cute. How bulky do you think they would be a page protector?

I really like what you did Nan. They do look like the festive swags you see on main street or during a parade at home.

I love these! Thanks for posting this. (I thought I had posted days ago:confused3) Anyway, I am making some for a swap, so I am trying to figure out the best way to mass produce these. So far I discovered that
1 1/2 inch strips is easier to deal with 1 1/4 inch strips. I needed to find a good weight itme to hold the medallion in place - -I am using my stapler, but I am still searching for a better weight. I have been using scotch's quick dry white tacky glue -- it holds it together just fine. I did see a video in which hot glue gun was used - -if I had a low temp hot glue gun, I think I'd use that. THe hardest part of these is having enough patience to let the glue set.

how about using a binder clip while it dry's?

It's not the right angle? You need something like a alligator clip for the first step. Oh, but the binder clip would work for the medallions. I'll try it! I am now using a small can of cranberry sauce and a can of tuna. THey are wworking well.
