We are doing backpacks this year. I bought plain backpacks used for crafting from oriental trading (the drawstring kind). This way the girls can use the backpacks to hold their stuff and get autographs at the same time. I wil give them a different color sharpie each day.

Great idea! Do you know if any of the craft stores (ie. Michaels, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby) would have anything like that?

the only thing I would think about is the park security - any bag must be screened. I try to bring as few bags into the parks (I actually try to bring none). so we can bypass that part of the security line.

I don't know if it would matter for backpacks, but my daughter wanted to have the back of her T-Shirt autographed. She's a huge Minnie Mouse fan and she wanted Minnie to sign the back of her shirt. Minnie wouldn't do it.:sad2: Her helper told us it was against policy, it had to be in a book.

So hopefully they won't say no to the backpacks, I just wanted to share with you what happened to us so you can be prepared.

I've seen hats signed before, maybe it was the shirt and the possibility of inappropriate behavior....I really don't know.

The characters will sign t-shirts...just not while on the person that is requesting the autograph. DS has a shirt that we carried aound with a small piece of cardboard to put in to help keep it stable for signing. We used fabric markers to have them sign with. If we do a shirt again, I will bring a small embroidery hoop. Just seems that it would make it a little easier to keep hold of...

The autographs come out really good in silver sharpie too!

They insist on carrying a bag, so what we do is I take all bags and DD2 in her stroller and DH goes through the no bag w/ DDs and I meet them at the stroller rental. Their bags have a snack, and a camera in it. Not much else so the checking through it takes no time.

Good tip, I'll be sure to bring something to keep it stable. I do remember seeing lot of tees and hats being signed.
