nearest supermarket to RPR

What is the closest supermarket to RPR that would have a deli counter? Someone mentioned a super walmart that is close. Does that have a deli counter? Thanks.

check out both http://walmart.com and http://publix.com use zip code 32819 to find nearest store. Publix closest is probably Sand Lake west of Turkey Lake.

Robvia has directions to the Publix on his website. I am pretty sure they have a deli counter.

SuperWalmart isn't exactly close. It is where we always go, but with traffic, it can be a 20-30 minute drive. And the last time we were in there, it was so crowded that check-out was about 30 minutes. But they do have everything you could want

There was a Kmart at Turkey Lake , just before you come to Sand Lake.
Also did a new Super Walmart not just open on Turkey lake Road

They can give you directions for absolutely everything. They are nicely done with reverse directions on the back of the cards.

I have since pasted these into my must know booklet that I keep for orlando.

From the airport to the RPR, you still want to visit the Publix just north of the parks. Driving from the airport to the resort is all done on highways. As you exit the airport, you'll be on the 528 heading west towards I-4. You take I-4 north to Kirkman Road (get in left lane), and go north. From there you'll pass the parking garages and the offsite hotels. The Publix is a mile north at Conroy road. So there's really no stop on the way from the airport, it's best to visit the places near the resort.

A good idea is to bring up maps.yahoo.com, get directions, put MCO in the start box, and put the Publix address as the destination.

The directions on the map site are different. You still end up on Kirkman road, but you don't need to make the u-turn it talks about. Just turn left at Conroy Road and the Publix is on the right side.

The two Publix closest to Universal are about the same distance from RPR and there is no difference in driving times - actually the one at 7640 W Sand Lake Rd Orlando, FL 32819-5112 is two minutes faster driving from RPR according to my Garmin GPS simulation. Its basically your choice on which one.

The K-Mart on Turkey Lake is not super in any way as in no food. This store actually closed during K-Mart's restructuring period. The new WalMart on Turkey Lake will also not be Super according to their web site.

Leaving MCO we always stop at the Super Walmart - 8101 S John Young Parkway. Either take Beach Line to John Young Parkway North to Sand Lake Road - right to Super WalMart or take left turn on Frontage Road Rd which is the road one light after crossing over Beach Line leaving airport north exit. Take Frontage Rd until it ends at Tradeport Rd. Make left turn and quick right onto McCoy Rd (7-11/Citgo on corner). DO NOT GO ONTO BEACHLINE but keep right and stay on McCoy Rd. In 5.7 miles arrive at WalMart. You can then continue on Sand Lake to hotel. You will pass Florida Mall and many fast food/eating choices.
