Hey all

I have a potential guest and they are looking for the nearest pub. I have asked on the forum and they have replied with

TGI Fridays not sure if this is a pub, but am not sure of it myself?

Stage Door Pub sounds the best

Raglan Rd in DTD a little far I thought

I am still looking for more if they are out there?

Johnny are you out there? A little help please.

Deb

Hi Deb,

The closest one is probably Harry Ramsbottom's which is just a couple of miles down the 192 (towards Medieval Times 1/4 mile before Poinciana Boulevard), it is part of the 'Wild Bill's development, although to be honest there were other little grocery/pizza shops etc there but unfortunatley many of these have now closed down. Mile marker 9 I think, same side of the road as Old Town.
They do pub food too and it is quite popular.

Further on down is Scotchcorner....

The pub is located between mile markers 13 and 14 also on the 192 . Look for the big yellow sign between the Econo Lodge and Victoria Inn approximately 1.5 miles east of Hwy 535 and 1.0 miles west of Medieval Times.

The Fox and Hounds is also closeby - never been in there though.

Fox & Hounds Pub
3514 W Vine St
Kissimmee, FL 34741-4627

There are probably a few more Deb (Rovers Return is along there as well), usually as I said earlier they are on the same side of the road as Old Town.
Which is actually a good point because there are several bars there of course, most of them with a good local atmosphere.

Next to OT there is a KFC, just behind that there is a nice little sports bar , almost halfway between KFC/OT..it is not visible from the road, but if you head to KFC and look to the right it is right there...Cheerleaders, I am not sure if that is what it is called but the address is below:

Cheerleader Sports Bar & Restaurant
(407) 390-0707
5042 W Irlo Bronson Mem Hwy
Kissimmee, FL 34746, United States

There is of course the Outback restaurant at Formosa Gardens that has a bar, I often have a drink whilst waiting to take-out our food there.

To be honest the one's listed above are closest but not the nicest or best,
the ESPN club at Disney's Boardwalk/ Cricketer's Arms at the Mercado on I-drive,the Orlando Ale House at Kirkman Road near Universal, and the new Best of British Sports Bar & Grill on International Drive (opposite Ripley's Believe It Or Not) are probably nicer...however, I would not want to encourage drinking and driving naturally.

...finally Deb I may know these bars/pubs, but it doesn't mean I have been in them all, just trying to stress I am not an alchoholic

Of the one's above I know Harry Ramsbottom's, ESPN, Cricketer's and Best Of British Sports Bar have SKY TV and often show British sport etc

I assume you're talking about proper British pubs. The closest is the Stage Door just west of marker 4. There are others east of the I-4. Harry Ramsbottom's is at Liberty Village (near Poinciana Blvd). The others are further east again beyond marker 15 - Scotch Corner, London Bridge Pub (not sure if this is still there) and the Rovers Return. I think there may be a couple more in the same area - we haven't driven that stretch of the 192 in a while. I haven't visited any of them, so I don't know what they're like.

Thank you for the information UKDeb I am glad I can give them some options.

Johnny I knew you would come through for me. I was not sure what a pub actually was? I have a definition from some one on my EI foum. I will have to start being more social when the kids get older.

For us we have a 6/5 so we bring our party down with us. The kids are in the pool and we are playing cards and having a bit of our own happy hour. So far it has been great so we have not had to leave to enjoy our fun. If we are ever down and overlap time we need to have you join us. You said your son loves the water also and you enjoy a social time. Just know you are welcome any time.

Thanks Deb :thumbsup2

I must admit probably the nearest to a traditional 'pub' is probably the Rose and Crown at EPCOT, possibly the Cricketer's Arms too.

Personally I prefer having a drink at the likes of the Outback or the ESPN at Boardwalk.
The one's on the 192 are okay though and usually very firendly.
Just have to be careful because I generally do all the driving, it's one of the few handicap's of staying in a villa.

Thanks for the meet-up offer too sounds like a good idea.
