Well I'm in the middle of week 4 of Atkins I'm still on Induction since I have a lot of weight to lose. The first 2 weeks I lost 8 lbs and week one lost 1 lb for a total of 9 and this week the scale isn't moving. I started excercising and went to the gym Mon, Tue, WEd and the scale still wasn't budging.
Last night at work someone bought a Louisiana "King Cake" and homemade chocolate brownies with homemade chocolate icing. I struggled all night long watching everyone partake of these no no's and was really getting depressed because I couldn't eat them and wasn't seeing results. I was about to give in but decided to check my urine to see If I was in Ketosis and I had the most amount of ketones ever (based on the darker color change observed)...That was enough to encourage me to keep it up and I avoided all temptations.... Thanks for listening, only you guys understand how hard that was:D

Oh, Stephanie!! That must have been quite a temptation but you did it!! You ignored that nasty evil carby stuff and kept to your plan!! Good for you! :sunny:

And best of all... NO sugar headache today! :D Well done, you overcame the temptations, and will be a thinner person because of it. I am proud of you!

Congratulations Stephanie for making such a healthy choice! It is soooo hard sometimes, isn't it? You did a great job sticking with your plan--give yourself a pat on the back for that--it's a big victory for you and shows how strong and determined you are! A big WOO HOO to you!:jumping1:

You said you started exercising this week. Is this the first time in a long time that you've exercised? When I started exercising in October I didn't lose anthing the first week and lost slowly for several weeks. Once my body adjusted to the exercise and decided I wasn't trying to kill it, I started losing much better. I've heard when you first start exercising your muscles are a bit shocked and retain water to help repair the damage. I'm not sure that's the exact technical explaination, but something along those lines.

Just know that eating healthy and exercising is the right thing to do and that you will see results, even if it takes a bit. You did great resisting temptation. Now just keep doing what you're doing until the woosh fairy gets to you. :)

Congratulations on passing on the goodies. It's so diffuclt when you really want them and you have to see everyone else eat them. You did terrific. Keep up the great work! You are doing fabulous!

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone!
LisaTx- yes this was the first time I'd exercised in about a year so I hope it'll start coming off faster now, plus it's almost TOM

I was able to put on a uniform top I haven't fit into in a while and when a doc came into our unit last night she said "Wow you look great!" That was the first comment from anyone who hadn't seen me in a while and it felt great!
