We're staying here for our May half-term trip and DH booked it AP room only by phone. I was expecting him to book a regular room but it turns out he chose AF. Because it is a while now since we did this I was wondering what extras we are getting for AF. I'm aware that the AF rooms will not be refurbished, does that mean we get those tiny little key safes like those in the HNY? I can't even remember where breakfast is taken. Do we get a separate check-in? Bathrobes and slippers? Any information from anyone who has been recently appreciated.

I'd be interested in the answers to this too!

Also, the DLP sites are now listing Compass Club rooms - are these re-named Admiral Floor rooms?

And also, how does the standard Newport Bay breakfast compare to other hotels? Is it like the Sequoia Lodge (CM takes you to table, all cold items) or like New York (hot items included)?

Thanks!

We stayed AF a few years ago - breakfast was in the Yacht Club so a very relaxed affair compared to standard rooms who were in the much busier Cape Cod - not sure if this happens all year round or only busy times. Only cold items though, there was a supplement to pay for hot items. We had two rooms - the safes in both were digital and took my notebook easily along with loads of other stuff. There was a separate check-in and we were given a couple of large bottles of water in the room and there was a kettle already there but no robes or slippers. The other perk I remember was towel hire at the pool was complimentary.

Hopefully someone else will come along - I did toy before posting as I'm worried this may be out of date as it was summer 2012 when we stayed there.

Now I'm confused, I thought Admiral's Floor was being re-branded as Compass Club after the refurbishment next year. :scratchin Will have to have a look at the DLP site.

Thanks, TBH I think it was probably 2012 when we stayed there last ourselves but you have a better memory than me! :-) Disappointed if no hot breakfast as the scrambled egg is the one item I can guarantee getting DS to eat when all he wants to do is get off to the park. I'll pay the supplement if necessary but I am just hoping that if Golden Forest have the hot items as standard now, AF will too. Bit disappointed if we don't get more of the GF extras. Relieved about the room safes at least! :goodvibes
