NBA Playoffs - Who ya got?

Well it is with some sadness that I start this thread. Last year low-key suggested I get it going. I refused and told him it was not the same without him starting it.
And that was the truth, and that thought still remains. Thought of him a lot during All-Star Weekend in Cleveland. Miss you Jason.

But in the end he did start it last year, and I did not realize. That mistake brought us vintage Jason - Jason biggin' up Jason. Laughing

So with a smile and a sigh, Who ya got?

I am going to watch one or two games in the first round and then give mine. I didn't even realize my beloved Valanciunas was now with New Orleans, until the Play-in games. So I will give myself a minute for my picks..

How I love the first round!
Well not the Bucks anymore.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but all the predictors claim that Warriors are the underdogs to the Mavericks in the series, and barely a favorite in game 1. For example, FiveThirtyEight currently gives the Warriors a 30% chance of winning the series and a 7% chance of winning the championship.

But this will cool with Jason Kidd coming back to the Bay Area.

However, most betting odds have the Warriors as the favorite.

Dallas reacts to the game.

Sure. However, it was a weird game where the Warriors didn't win with 3 point shooting and Curry even missed 3 free throws, although two were missed where he managed to steal the rebound on the 2nd miss and scored to make up for it. And the Warriors mostly put Wiggins on Doncic, although there was a lot of switching with Green and Looney where Doncic turned into a volume shooter.

This is hilarious with the crowd hating on noted Warriors detractor Charles Barkley:

CHUCK YOU SUCK!!!

Warriors come back from down 19 to take game 2.

I won't pretend that any of the NBA Playoffs makes any sense after a Celtics blowout in Miami followed by what looked to be a Heat blowout in Boston that got fairly close in the last five minutes.

The Mavs were fined $100,000 for breaching "bench decorum" during game 2. It was stuff like a player on the bench wearing white standing and yelling at a Warriors player to pass him the ball while he was in-bounds.

During the Warriors’ 126-117 victory in Game 2, Stephen Curry threw a pass out of bounds with no teammate in the area. The pass was in the vicinity of Dallas’ Theo Pinson, who was wearing a white shirt while standing and waving. Golden State was wearing its home white uniforms.

Well it looks like I should have put money on my pick, especially since the odds makers are so ridiculous.

I am not seeing games unfortunately, as we had severe storms pass through early yesterday - midnight came at midday, and it looks like power restored will be a bit.

I'm a little perturbed that Doncic did his best impression of James Harden. There was minimal contact below the neck (and in the restricted area near the basket), but he acted as if he was hit in the face. It was totally worth it to use up the one team challenge on that, because it set the tone for the finish of the game.

I still can't figure out what the deal is with Nick Wright from Fox Sports. He not only predicted that the Mavs would win the series in 5 games, but once the Warriors took a 3-0 lead and then came in 3-1, he kept on insisting that the Mavs could win the series and that the history of no team coming back from 3-0 was no longer a predictor since it was 3-1. He simply refuses to believe that he was wrong about anything.

Well he'll fit right in at Fox.
