How's the food here?
The travel guides (Frommer's, Fodor's) give good and bad reviews.

We have eaten there twice and had good service and great food both times. My DS (8) loves the atmosphere. I had salmon the first time we ate there. DH had a pizza. Both were good. The second time I had a thick cut pork chop which was wonderful. The kids had Denver Nuggets and Bulls Burgers. They liked them. They also like the kids menu there. It has activities for older kids like matching the teams to the city and word searches plus a design your own team jersey.

On our trip this past Aug. we loved it. The food was fantastic. My ds's said they'd have much rather eaten there again than going to hard rock.......... which was HORRIBLE!!!!

I'd say you should go, we really enjoyed it!

My 10 yo DS and I ate there this month, and both enjoyed our meals. I don't remember the type salad I had, but it was delicious, and he had pizza. I was pleasantly surprised.

We ate there in 2001 and loved it. I had the chicken tenders (appetizer menu I believe). I can't remember what anyone else had but it was all good.

NBA City is GREAT! A lot of people are uncertain about it because they think the basketball theme might be too much, but it's not. It's a fun atmosphere with great food and great service. I've never had a bad experience there.

Hands down the most welcome dining surprise that I've ever had in Universal Orlando.

We went in ducking a rainstorm (you can't beat its location right by the IOA turnstiles) and despite the requisite arcade games and hoop out front, the restaurant itself was a class act. Great comfort food. Also had the most amazing dessert that I've had on property (sorry Mythos) -- the tempura-fried fruit served ala mode. Ahhh. 'tis good, 'tis good.

Do NOT sell this place short. It's never busy, probably because it's not in the hub of Citywalk restaurants and dwarfed by Hard Rock Cafe, but it's highly recommended.

I just had to reply AGAIN!! :p I have to say we were pleasantly suprised. The food like I said was fantastic....... the drinks were very good and my boys loved it! We also ducked in to avoid the rain....... and I'm glad we did. I would've never eaten there by choice, given that we had a VERY BAD experience at hard rock, and the nascar cafe was disappointing too..... not horrible, just not anything special......... but NBA city was a treat!! We will eat there again!!!!

Two words: Buffalo Mozzerella (over Beefsteak tomato)
