My sons, ages 13 and 11 absolutely love NBA City at Univeral's Citywalk. If you or someone you know is into Basketball, this place is not to be missed.

Does anyone know of any discounts or coupons available for this restaurant? Thanks!

This site did have a $50 GC for $25 plus shipping for NBA City. They don't right now but they frequently add Orlando restaurants, so NBA City may come up again.

People on the Universal/IOA Boards have been ordering and using these will a lot of success. Just keep an eye on the expiration dates.

CCOrlando ½-Price Dining Deals

Other than that, the only discounts that I'm aware of would be if you have a USF/IOA annual pass.

Oops, I forgot about this deal:

Uh oh. After proudly proclaiming on another thread "I NEVER leave WDW property" we might just have to ! I didn't know such a place existed. Can you tell me about it, themacfive? Do we need Universal admission to get to NBA city? I have to go start researching now!::yes::

No admission required to visit City Walk--but there is a cover in the evenings, never did it, so don't know. City Walk has some great places to eat. Even though I'm married to a Disney CM, we visit the other parks too and the places at city walk are where we eat. We like the Nascar Cafe and the Motown Cafe. My 10 yr. old grandson likes them as well and was quite fascinated at the Motown Cafe last summer. We plan to visit the NBA cafe in July and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville too. We are not big fans of the eats inside of US or IOA, so like to take a mid break at one of these places, then head to the second park, since both of their parks are within walking distance (with city walk in between).

NBC City is awesome! There's TV's everywhere you look which only show basketball, ranging from the classics until present, but all NBA. The boys love seeing the games from the 70's and 80's. There is unbelievable memorabilia everywhere, and off course the restaurant is themed in Basketball right down to the Slam Dunk French Fries! Even the bathrooms offer miniature hoops to slam your trash away! The kids will love the gift shop and there are basketball shootout games to play. My boys all time favorite is that they take you can pick your favorite player and they'll take your picture and have it look like your standing next to the guy! It is so great. (Framed 8 by 10 picture was about $24.95, but it sure beat buying them another disney t-shirt!)

It does not cost anything to enter City Walk until after 9pm. City Walk compares to Downtown Disney. You can access all the shops and restaurants until 9pm. It's a lot of fun! I definately recommend this. I also am a Disney fanatic, but as my sons get older, we try to go out of our way to find something just for them. Don't forget to check-out ESPN Zone at the Board Walk, also great.

Thanks, themacfive. I already talked to DH about it and he's ready! DS is 15 and bball is all he has ever done - we do it all year- right now trying to get AAU team together. One year he did 5 teams during the winter season! So this is right up his alley. DD is 20 and also played, so she will appreciate it too. We're going June 17-23 - any day or time better than another? Is it better at lunch or dinner? Thanks for your help! :jumping1:

we are annual passholders at US/IOA & eat at NBA City & Margaritaville on every trip. NBA City is less crowded at lunch (the longes wait was 10 minutes) but usually only have the bottom 1/2 of the restaurant open. Dinner is always busy (20-30 minutes or more wait time) unless you do dinner say 5 or 6pm. Must tries are the pizza (thin crust brick oven baked & the fried towering cheesecake or the fried strawberries!) If you are a passholder you can receive a 10% discount on your total check.

p.s. parking is free at Universal after 6pm. the cover fees are more for clubs or the places that offer live entertainment (after 9, Margaritaville has a live band)

Thanks for all the information! Sounds like lunch might be the best time to go since DS would want to do all the interactive stuff (food? what food? - could be why he's 6'1", but 138 lbs. dripping wet!). The rest of us piggies will eat, though. It all sounds yummy!

You said the upstairs is usually closed at lunch. What's up there? Would we be missing anything?

Also, do they accept reservations? Sorry for all the questions, but this is totally new to me!

City Walk should not be missed! Even if you're a huge Disney person, the City Walk is free, and there's a lot of really cool places. Margaritaville, Bob Marley's, NASCAR Cafe, NBA City, Emeril's, just to name a few.
