I just learnt about the most scary thing.
During WWII, Nazi scientists were just about the finest on the earth. They were also, at least in part, unscrupulous as hell. Anyway...
During the twilight days of Hitler's Third Reich, a LOT of research was being done with a view to acquiring the next V2 rocket - a war decisive invention, if you will. The Nazis researched into jet fighters, pilotless fighter drones, atomic warheads...
...and anti-gravity equipment.
Ridiculous so far, right? At least, that's what I thought.
And then I did a little research.
Buried deep in the earth lies a Nazi research centre that was of the highest secrecy, built with slave labour. Inside lay a large device known simply as "the Bell". Witnesses described it as being full of an odd coloured liquid that shone in a strange way, although details remain both vague and sketchy. On the surface was built what looks like a reinforced stone henge - it remains there to this day. The complex is presently flooded.
The Bell project was labelled as "war decisive" - not even atomic research was considered so important. As the allies invaded, the scientists were all killed (lovely) and the research results destroyed, so simply put we have no idea what they achieved or what it was that was "war decisive". America nabbed most Nazi research at the end of the war, including items to do with the Bell.
Then, 5 years later, reports of UFOs started to come in thick and fast. They had first been recorded by pilots during WWII, more often than not over Germany.
So what can we conclude? Not a lot really. The Bell was of terrific consequence to the German high command and had probably produced some interesting results based on the resources committed to it. Possibly the experiment was nabbed by the USA and perhaps it was useful.
Could modern day UFOs be the results of the Bell? It's not impossible. We know that the Nazis had designed round aircraft and we know that the USA became very interested in the concept, buying out a company that produced round hovercrafts.
For a gallery of Nazi related concepts and test photographs, go here (one picture shows the Bell's surface counterpart):

It's interesting if nothing else.
