Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

Last night I tried to add my AP to my profile and it linked, instead, to my 8 month old grandson. Tech support couldn't figure out how to fix it (although ALL the CMs I spoke with were very pleasant.). They have now bumped it to the IT guys to see if they can get into my account to change it. There are still an awful lot of glitches in this program/app. They couldn't even find my account under my e-mail address or user name.
Guess I have to wait to hear back from them.

Well, we figured out our specific problem. My wife could see our resort reservations that I made, but I couldn't see the ADRs she made. Apparently, we each need to invite the other - it isn't enough to just invite in one direction.

This was the workaround that the IT guys gave me on the mobile app. Even though my email address is the same for the disney.com, dvc, and the mobile app, since the web versions also have a user name (that I usually use to sign in with) the MDX thought I was 2 different people. So, by signing in with my user name and inviting my email, then signing in with my email and inviting my user name (which was really amusing b/c the invites were done through email, so I was emailing myself from myself in both accounts) the mobile app now sees all my reservations etc.

It also lists me as 2 different people: the one with an avatar is the one I use (sign in with username) and the mouse-head generic is the only sign-in for the mobile app (done with my email.)

Definite problem there, but...it works. Just not how it should.

You'd think they would be able to merge the two accounts...

It looks like the Magic Bands section on the MDX web site has been removed or atleast I am not seeing it anymore... One step forward, two steps back it seems... :confused3

Helo can you go on a my Disney experience website from the uk I can't see any changes on the app

I'm in the U.S., so I can't test this. But this is what I've heard...

U.K. users should be able to access the MDE website by using this link: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/. GoofyGraham also reports that the website may not work well through the Firefox browser, and suggests that Internet Explorer may work better.

That's a first. Never heard someone suggest IE unless they didn't like the person! :rotfl::rotfl:

I run in to it all the time...some web designers/programmers only program for one particular browser, because they all do things a little differently.

Typically, if a web site doesn't seem to work in firefox, I will switch to IE and see if it works there.

I also deal with a lot of devices like network gear that have built-in web servers for configuring, and a lot of them only work with IE, or at least work better. The problem I run in to now is that IE is changing so much, it is now being treated as an "unsupported" browser. We actually are having problems accessing old equipment now.

Today I am back to MDE (laptop) asking me to add my AP info again and telling me that I can't since my pass is after March 19 *sigh* I could view AP rates for all of 1 day...

Yes, I have the same issue. When I go to into the app, my email address comes up automatically. I have to delete the email address and enter my user name to see my reservations.

We are DVC member and are staying at the Treehouse Villas in August. 3 adults, 1 child (me, DH, MIL and DD10).

On the DVC member site, the reservation is correct with all of our names. However on the MDE iPhone App it is not. It says 3 adults, 1 child but when you click on details it lists my husband twice, me as a child, and my mother in law, with no mention of our daughter! :confused3

I'm in Canada and cannot access the MDE website on a computer or laptop. I was able to when it first rolled out for about a day or two so I was able to set up our profiles but ever since it keeps reverting to the old site.

I'm not in Canada but I have the same problem. I was told by a CM that as long as the names are correct in their system then everything is fine. They are having issues with transferring the correct names to the MDE. This was over 2 months ago

So it looks like I can no longer see the Magic Band/Card info in the MDE website as I was able to for a fleeting moment the other day.

Is it currently available for anyone else?

Its like two steps back without the one step forward... :rolleyes2

I am glad that, CURRENTLY, all my info for my reservation and ADRs show up correctly.. knock on wood.... I seem to find myself checking the site everyday expecting something to be wrong...

Gone for me. Funny that the day we do see it (6/26), just happened to be the last day of the recent guest test.

I did a thread search but I don't have time at the moment to read all 51 pages (I probably will eventually.)
My dining reservations that were made via phone over 5 months ago (because I couldn't get MDE to do the 180+10 then) all list "2 adults". The one I made tonight for Tusker House via MDE correctly lists 1 adult and 1 child.
Does anyone know for sure if it matters if MDE shows 2 adults on the others when 1 adult and 1 child is going to show up?
I'm guessing no, but the ADRs that worry me are BOG and GG due to the CC guarantee. Maybe the phone CM system just didn't distinguish adult from child, at least at the time those ADRs were made, and it doesn't really matter who shows up as long as 2 people do?
FYI, I tried to change them tonight in MDE, but they still show as 2 adults and I don't want to mess with it too much and lose my times.

I made some ADRs online and some on the phone with a CM. On MDE all of the ADRs made online say (correctly) 2A and 2C, all of the CM made ADRs say 4A. I even tried updating the guests on those ADRs using the MDE icons for each family member and it didn't change it from 4A. When I called to make my final payment the other day, I asked the CM about this and she said it will have no bearing on the reservation nor will it impact correctly debiting dining plan credits.

HTH!

I agree. I had this happen on some of the ADRs that I scheduled for my May trip and it was fine. I think as long as the total # of people match it will be fine. We had 2 children and 2 adults traveling and one of them showed up as an infant when we arrived for our CRT ADR but we prepaid correctly and it wasn't an issue.

Thanks, Dentaldana2 & Lita! I didn't think it should make a difference, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!

I can still see it for my family but not for me (never have seen anything about magic bands for me). When I click on the tabs for my family members, it says "this guest has no magic bands".

I love, love, love our simple life!

Reservation made thru CRO.

Lucky enough to have IPO make our whopping 3 ADRs for our 9 day stay.

I am not fussing with and worring about the MDE app mess cuz I don't want to get (easily) frustrated.
