I just rebooked , and I am paying $125 week, a 2 week rental, intermediate plus taxes and charges.total for 2 week rental is $335.32 still not as good a deal as you are. I am emerald aisle member, and used the $20 coupon. But I just saved $25 a week, I had it booked for $399. Not bad. Going AUgust 25th=Sept 8th.

Yep, I rebooked our 8/19-26 rental yesterday and saved about $100. Just the emerald club code and a $20 coupon that I had in already.

I thought I'd check my dates in October, to see if they had budged yet. I have yet to book a car because they have been so high.

Well, my ent. coupon is out in the car, so I just used the Emerald club code, and 8 days, Intermediate car, came to, with Emerald discount, $390!!!!!!!!!!! Good grief. I paid $162 last year for the same time frame, full size.

The rates are still going down at National for the last week of August.
We are renting EA, 8/19-8/27 using the 20.00 Entertainment coupon (along with their contract#), and it has gone from 250 when I first rented in early July down to 167.11 (all fees included in that price). It had gone down yesterday to around 175.00 and now went down again today.

I can finally join the "National rate dropped" club!

I check almost everyday and today my rate for August 25 thru August 30 for an Intermediate went from $153 total to $127 total.

Thanks for giving me the incentive to check yet again! I was loosing hope.

On the other hand, my Oct 21 - 29 rental went from $250 to $400!! I guess you can't win them all.

I have an Intermediate (Emerald Aisle) for 10/14 - 10/20 for $153.79 total.....I booked this months ago and it's way higher now. I can live with this price, but, I'd like it about $20/$25 lower, so I'll keep checking. However, I checked yesterday for our January trip.........we need a minivan then because we have six people.....I won't even go near National ....it was over $600.....I did book Dollar for $396 total, but, not happy with it.....as we get closer if it doesn't come down we may not rent a car that trip and just use ME......haven't ever done that, but, I will not pay close to $400. Another option would be use ME and then get a smaller car for a few days from Car Care Center or Swan/Dolphin just to get to the grocery store, etc. (when everyone wouldn't be going anyway) or maybe try one of the grocery delivery services for a change.

Booked 9/7-9/14 for $145.90 w/the $20 online coupon & the Emerald Club contract code. I originally thought I'd only get the car for the weekend, but this is the lowest rate I've seen for those dates so I booked it!! :0)

your rate is consistent with the rate we got for september 8- 15

on a side note, anyone using the 5125601 American Express CODE, it breaks the weekly rental out into 22.99 rental days ( all days are equal cost ), we just used it for the 3 day ( one free day ) weekend in baltimore and it saved us 50$ over any other rate we could get with national there... the concession recovery fee and passenger facility charge was about 15$
( riding a bus to and from the car center in BWI is costly...smilawgs, still not as bad as Las Vegas where they tack on 3$ per day for the new "car center" they are in the process of building ...similar to BWI most rental car companies will be centralized in Las Vegas once they get it done )

I just got a quote of $153 and I am so happy in the past two weeks I have saved over $100 for my 9 day rental. By the way with alamo I just got a quote of 136. And the car rental prices usually bottom out on wenesday or thursday for the week. This has become an addiction.

Yes! I too obsess about the price as I get closer to departure. Way back in Feb. after we decided on when we would leave, I checked Alamo just for fun. I got an SUV for $135 total. Trip is from 8/29 to 9/5. After that unbeliveable rate nothing came close. Now just about an hour ago I checked with National and lo and behold I got a mid size on the aisle for $133 total. Now I know that I get what I get on the aisle compared to a guaranteed SUV from Alamo but I think it is an even trade since I don't have any possible headaches from National compared to some of the stories I have heard about Alamo.

Hey, I rebooked my National Rental again, ( second time) and saved an additional $40, so now I am down to $290 for 15 days. Feeling good about this one, now if I only had booked Jet blue when it was $79 each way last week......
Emerald Aisle, BJs coupon and NF20 code. $base rate $105 per week plus taxes and surcharges. Oh, those charges they add on are ridiculous
