I am not familiar with the designs of various car makers. For those of you familiar with the EA cars--what make/model should I look for when I arrive at MCO late (11:30 pm) on May 4. My son and his 3 friends will join me at WDW for part of a week. That leaves me as the driver and 4 teenage boys. Luggage won't be a player as they will be doing the Magical Express May 7.

Also, if pickings are slim should I ask attendant if other cars are available? I am under the impression that I should have the "aisle" to choose from. If there are only 2 or 3 cars, that's not much of a choice.

Any advice/suggestions are most welcome! Thank you.

EA has intermediate cars. Most of them will hold 5 people. You will probably find Aleros, Galants, Grand Ams and similar.
If you don't find anything on that aisle, they will direct you to the Intermediate aisle.

I think you should do a full size with Emerald Reserve, it's usually only a few dollars more. You and 4 teen boys will not be comfortable in an intermediate, it will be hard to fit 3 teen boys in the backseat. If by chance there is something bigger on the EA, you can ask the attendant if you can take it. That's what happened when I was there 3 weeks ago, all full size had was a convertible, the attendant allow us to take an Aztec off the EA.

It's going to be TIGHT in an Intermediate! I'd reserve at least a Full size, Emerald Reserve rather then Emerald Aisle with only Intermediates (with very rare upgrades available).

I'd take the opposite approach. Go with a full size reservation IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT but you don't have to worry about luggage. National says an intermediate will seat 5, if you can't find a car with 5 seat belts make them upgrade you.

As long as you're not planning a long trip; Space Center, Busch Gardens or beaches you can just squeeze the kids in. How long will everyone be in the car. Ten minutes on the way to a park or DTD?

Thanks for the input.

I'm guessing that 90% of the time I'll be alone. I plan on being the chaperone mostly...kids are 18. They'll take the Disney buses most of the time...or as mentioned, will only ride 10 min or so.

One day we'll go to the coast--we're from South Dakota and I insist that they see/dip into the Atlantic. Cocoa Beach and a Ron Jon's T-shirt are on the agenda. Perhaps a trip to NASA with a friend who works there--but that will allow for a 2nd car. Two of the kids want to visit Embry Riddle Univ in Daytona--but the other kids will remain behind.

I joke with the guys-- widest shoulders rides "shot gun". Others are slim. I keep rationalizing about the way "Back in MY day" we used to pack a VW on the way to the beach in the good old days--often 6 of us.

I love the idea of insisting that the car have seating for 5 since the advertising states seating for 5.

Any suggestions for which have the roomiest back seat? I still am drawn to the intermediate since I don't care to swap cars and will seldom use it with the guys. I'll have it for 14 days...only 6 with the boys. Gas costs are high--would rather save some at the pumps.

Of the intermediates, I am mostly familiar with size of Grand AM. Which ones would you say are roomiest of the intermediates?
Thanks

We found the Galant to be quite roomy. Also, the Chevy Classic (aka in the real world as a Malibu) to be reasonably roomy. Most of the Intermediates have 5 seat belts.
