National went up for me???

Can this be possible? Last week I checked National rates for a minivan for one week (Feb 19-26, 2005) and was getting 199/week, with some contract #'s giving me $20 off, so $179/week for a total of $210 and some change.

Today I checked and am getting rates like the following:

Pick-up:
Orlando Intl Arpt, FL

Is this crazy??????? I don't get it? Any thoughts?

What were your codes last week? Did you book it last week?

Some times at the National site you can check it one minute and go back and check it a few seconds later and it will be totally different. I would continue checking and puting the codes in,even if it means logging out and starting over.

I have been reserving and cancelling as I get better rates,at least 5 times on this May ressie.

Let us know how you make out, and put your codes in.

Typically the closer you get the lower the rates go. They wait and see how the rentals are going and adjust accordingly.

I tried several. Some yielded no savings...just flat rate of 199, others gave the 199-$20=179

I tried priceless, walmart, carlson and some others, cant remember. The ones that gave me the 179, I have written down at work, but I am on spring break now...should have brought my list home with me....grrrrrrrrrrr

clear your cookies and cache and try again. sometimes National's site gets a bit weird.

As to the codes, www.mousesavers.com should help with that.

cleared everything and rates are better, but still not as good as last week. I am now getting rates for around $300 total. Still too high---I should mention the lower rates are for a standard size, not a minivan.

I also went to mousesavers and tried different codes...still not getting lower rates....boo hooo for me
