I had booked National got a decent rate with the two codes found here of $130 dollars for 9 days from May 28-June6. But I noticed the pickup time is incorrect. The day is correct but it says I'll pick up at 900pm, but I will actually be picking up at @ 2:30. I don't want to change ressie I'm afraid price will change.
Does anyone think this will be a problem?
Thanks

It could change your price. Car rentals are based on a 24 hour rental period - so from say 9pm Monday to 9pm Tuesday. If you pick up the car at 2:30pm Monday and return it at 9pm on Tuesday then you get charged for 2 days instead of one.

So for your rental it would depend on what your return time is.

Have you tried making a new reservataion with the same codes and the correct times to see if the rate changes? If it doesn't, you can just make the new ressie and cancel the old.

If it does change, why not try calling and asking the National rep what would happen if you arrived 6 1/2 hours early t pick up the car? Maybe the rep can change the ressie for you without changing the current rate. A rep did this for me once - I called to say my plane was delayed, so that I'd be late picking up the car. She originally said the rate would change, but when I politely objected, she did the right thing, LOL.

Keep in mind Amberle3's post - you'll have to return the car before the end of the 9th 24 hour period to keep the rate. If you are late (I think National gives you 1/2 hour grace), you will pay for the extra time.

Best wishes-

There won't be a problem as long as your actual rental time does not change. The default time for National's web site is 9am. Are you sure it didn't tell you 9am?

You can try to use the modify portion of the web site. Simply click on view/modify/cancel and enter your info. You can then change the times and click modify. It will then give you a split screen with the old ressie and the new ressie side-by-side. You can choose which one you want to keep.

I just priced out a interemediate ressie for your dates using priceless and ent coupon codes and got 210.88, so I hope things work out for you.

I would try and change it online. National's website is great for changing minor things and not loosing your rate. It will show you the 'new' rate before you accept it so there's really no risk involved.

Thanks.
I did try to make a new one for the last day or two but it was always so much more like $30-80 more.

Now that I know they give me a choice when I modify I will try that. I was afraid it would just automatically change it without giving me an option to keep old or new.

It was 9:00pm the only thing I could think of, I must have been going to fast and hit the wrong choice.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

UPDATE: Used modify and it did not change the price, now I feel better.

After the airline changed my flight times, I had to modify an existing National ressie for June in St. Louis. I was afraid the price would go up, but they kept it the same. Just for kicks I put in the info as if I were making a new ressie and the price jumped over $20 more. It's always good to try it both ways, because I've found if I try to modify it when a lower rate comes out, it's been cheaper to make a new ressie.
