for those who have bookings with national car for the above dates....

you might want to check again using the product rate code WWEB

it seems to bring up better bottom line rates ...ours dropped 30$ from our current booking for november 13 - 20

would suggest that you use a NEW booking to check...

tried to use that code with a "change" to reservation and the rate came back the same for some reason

happy Nationaling....

My final total was $17 less now but I am now being charged $30.30 concession fee using the priceless code

Thanks for the heads up. I made a reservation with WWEB, Priceless and Entertainment coupon. I now have an Intermediate car for one week 11/8 (PM)-11/15(PM) for $186. I'm not really thrilled with the rate, but I guess I'll have to live with it for now. I made a reservation months ago for 11/9 (PM) to 11/15 (AM) but I hadn't done our flights yet so just guessed at dates. It was $154. I was really hoping to bring in the week at about $150.

Has anyone done better with other agencies/codes for November?

can someone post this?

I have a book, but it is at home and I am not!

I originally got a really good rate on my car (August trip) for 5 days for a full size using the entertainment coupon for $160.83 on 6/29. On 7/1 the rates went way up (over $220.00). Using the WWEB now the quote is now $189.42.

I will keep my original reservation too, but continue to keep an eye on this.

For my late October trip, my best quote so far has been from Hertz of all places. Would prefer National or Alamo as the pickup is at the airport.

It doesn't look like the WWEB code helps me.

The best I can get for a full size car renting from 10/8 at noon to 10/12 at 1:30 PM is about $190.

No coupons work. It is too short for a week discount. For the weekend free day, the car must be returned by Monday.

I am an EC member, BJs, and AAA. I am not getting luck yet.

BTW, it looks like BJs, and National are splitting. The current National coupons expire on 8/31. other than on line, they only were in the Vacation Planner flyers at BJs (not the rental car flyers). I picked up the new vacation planner this week (covers the rest of the year) and there were no National coupons in it. There were signs around the store showing the other rental car companies but not National.

Has anyone used the American Express contract id that MouseSavers has listed? It supposedly came with new AmEx cards but you don't need to use the AmEx card to pay for the rental. I was able to get a really good rate for a 4-day weekend in September by using the contract id (5125601) and an Entertainment Book coupon for one free weekend day.

For an intermediate on the EA, 4 days, it will cost me $91.94 with fees & taxes, including the airport concession fee. This was less than using the Priceless code. That was $117.32 for the same rental period.

Has anyone had any experience using this code and were there any problems? $25 is a nice savings for me and I'd like to use the ressie if I can.

magamom, what is your quote for October? While I occasionally try other agencies, I admit not trying them as much as national to get the best quote.

BTW - What part of Western Mass? I live in Blandford, but work in Westside.

My quote for October is $298.99, Arrive 10/22, depart 11/1, Intermediate, will receive a double upgrade (I guess up to a full size) with the entertainment coupon. DMother-in-law is coming along so we should be comfortable enough. I don't think that's bad - only thing is that I am very used to picking up our car at the airport.

I am still looking around and found a better deal with Alamo (entertainment 1 car upgrade coupon midsize to full - $175.19) instead of the current quotes (after 7/1) with National. I just cancelled my National reservation as using the Alamo coupon for the one car upgrade (compact to midsize) my current quote is $126.16 for 5 days.

All of these quotes include the taxes.

Will I be sorry for just getting the midsize? DH is concerned about this. It's just the 3 of us and we like the option of choosing the car so we should be fine.

BTW, I live outside of Springfield and work in Holyoke.

betterlatethannever

the WWEB code is usually for a week rental ....

they have another code similar to it for weekend renting but have not seen it in a while

if you go to the national site

then

Specials to Go

they have a Weekend Specials for the same dates as mentioned in my original posting

the coding for it is EWEB

good luck
