National Rate Fell Again!!

Woohoo! I LOVE saving money & FINALLY my rate fell into the "Happy Dance" category.

National EA - MCO

$121.23 (all taxes/fees included)

This started a few weeks ago @ $184.17 & this is the 3rd reservation I've made from the original!

Used Priceless contract (6600330) & $20 ENT coupon. (10008615)

Persistence does pay off & I wish I could hug each & every one of you here at the boards for helping me save money. Looks like I'll have more money to pump into the Orlando economy in June.

That changes it by $10.00, they will probably pick it up when you get the contract. I just changed mine to the priceless code and noticed it.

Here's a link to another thread which addresses the concession fee issue. Seems that another poster has phoned customer service at National twice & was told that the rate is correct without the concession fee as National has a contract with Priceless to waive this. Sounds legit....hope this helps.

I saved another $6!!!

I am now at $128.37 for April 27 - May 4.

I am using the Priceless vacation code and the free day from National.

The thing now is.... the rate has dropped so much that my free day is only worth $18!! I checked the rate using the Entertainment Coupon (which is worth $20) and the rate drops to $124.73

So I have to see if I can scrounge up an Entertainment book before Tuesday morning. If not I will be happy with the $128.

Oh.. and my original rate was $187.

The priceless contract ID code 6600330 can be used by anyone. You do not need to present anything at check out (ie; card or proof of membership).

thanks, i just went down to this rate from my previous $131.

i have gone from $184 to $121 in a week!!!!

I was going to start another post to ask this....
But since you all have National....

When you go to the Emerald Aisle.....you can choose any car there, right?
Have any of you picked up your cars at MCO? And what type of car were you able to get? Did it seem that most people were able to "upgrade" from the intermediate that is promised?

I just changed my reservation!! Yahoo!! saved a few more $$

Going June 4 - 14th, 10 days.......I have 2 options right now.....

Use EA for intermediate
Priceless code + Entertainment coupon = $191 incl tx.

or

Use Emerald Reserve to guarantee full size
Emerald Club code + entertainment coupon = $234 incl tx.

Is there ever a chance to get something better than a full size if you go with EA?? An SUV would be nice! That is what I normally drive.

FYI everyone using National
The rates seem to be the same w/ national and alamo. However there is one difference:
Alamo includes an additional driver w/ no charge.
W/ all of the coupons I got from rentalcodes.com I was getting the same cheap rates w/ both companies but I would like to have the additional driver.

FYI......If you are an Emerald Club member, you automatically can have another driver. As long as you live in the same household.

The rules state:

"an Authorized Driver must be:
1. a member of my immediate family who permanently lives with me; or
2. a business partner, employer, or regular employee who drives the Vehicle for business purposes."

There are NO guarantees with the EA. There could be just Intermediates which are guaranteed to EA reservations or there could be PT Cruisers (many have reported them lately), SUVs, and minivans etc...but there's no guarantee.

So if you HAVE to have a Full size, then book the Full size with Emerald Reserve. If you can live with an Intermediate, then book Emerald Aisle and keep your fingers crossed.

In all my years using EA, I've never been lucky enough to get anything but an Intermediate and then of course, last year when I booked a Full size/Emerald Reserve, I saw on the EA a PT Cruiser! Just my luck.

Here's a link for a thread "What have you seen on the EA lately"...its pretty long & goes all the way back to 2002 i believe so you might just want to start reading the latter pages. Also, no one's sure if the changes that National just made will affect EA, so there may be an even greater possibility of only finding an intermediate on the aisle. As another poster suggested, if you must have a full size I'd go with the reserve just to be safe. We're ok with an intermediate with only 4 of us & not much luggage so EA will work just fine for my family.

Mine was $235.16 and is now $198.91 (I did however change the times because I booked the flights so that helped)

Is a standard size SUV small? we have 4 adults and a 3 year old in a booster/car seat (5pt harness)

Oh another 2 questions...

1. When going through mousesavers for the emerald club are they for sure you do not get charge the $50 dollars and

2. How much does it cost to have a 2nd driver. Honestly I don't want to drive I would like my father to drive.

If your father lives at the same address ,with Emerald club, there is no charge. If he has a different address I believe there is a $5.00 per day charge. If he is going to do all the driving ,have him make the ressie . Of course he has to join EC.

You won't be charged through that link. It will say you are going to be charged, but, that is a default message. The fact that Turner's contract ID is there it lets it go through without charge.
Yes, a standard size SUV is small. Way too small for all your pax.
I believe the charge for another driver is 7.00 per day. Have your father join and rent the car. Check the National site for information about EC, I believe any EC member can drive without charge on another EC person's EC rental.
