Hi all,
We are leaving tomor for WDW. As I've learned from this board, I have been checking daily for a better rate. When I plugged in my dates this morning, June 12- 18th the base rate dropped approximately $2 and the amount of my discounts increased.

I used my disney club discount (26.99) and the buena vista internet discount (33.67). I don't have my old ressies in front of me but the buena vista discount seems to be too much.

I reran the exact reservation and got different discount numbers for the buena vista discount (approx. $10 less). Is this a glitch in the system? More importantly, armed with my coupons and my DC card--will they honor it?

Thanks in advance.
Mary

Keep the printout ( I print everything!!!)and the email and they will honor the quote shown.
Not sure if it is a glitch, but, my buena vista discount is high also, but, I am not complaining or reporting it to anyone. LOL

what is the buena vista discount....?

have not heard of that one before....is it connected to the Disney Club card...take it ...that it is a coupon code since we cannot get "double" dipping from National...???

I used this "coupon" too on a Dec ressie and it gave me a really good discount. I just reread the coupon and it says "when you book through DisneyVacations.com" I did not book through them as we are DVC members and book through member services. Do you think we will have a problem when we get there?

I also got the $33.76 coupon discount. I am waiting for National to call me back about this right now. They say the discount should about $7.00 less than that. I am working with a manager so we'll see what he has to say. My thoughts are if I have it in writing, then they better honor it!

I just got off the phone with the manager from National. He honored the price that I had with the $33.76 coupon. I faxed him my confirmation, and he said no problem. All he did was adjust my weekly rate to a lower amount in their system so everything coincides.

Just to be on the safe side, I would call National to confirm your ressies and the price.

Thanks for the heads up Piglet. I am going to call national immediately.

Wish me luck!

UPDATE

Just got off the phone with national's front desk at MCO. They said they would honor my price but I would have to go to the front desk since I have a coupon. She said anyone who uses a coupon must go to the front desk. Sort of defeats the purpose of the isle :(.

I thought I read on here that the coupons were given to the kiosk.

What do you guys think? I think i'm gonna try the kiosk first and see what happens. I made copies of the confirmation so I don't have a problem surrendering my coupon and confirmation. Jeez, all this for $15 less...lol

Any comments?

We were in WDW in May and used EA for the first time. I took computer printouts of the codes I had used and gave them to the person in the kiosk. I wished I had made a second copy just in case it was questioned when I returned the car but I didn't have any problems. It was quick and easy both renting and returning. Sure beats the shuttle to Alamo's lines!!!

I go by what it says on my confirmation. It says to go to the Aisle and select the car I want. I also plan to have my printout and email from National, they can fix anything at the kiosk.
So, in summation, look at the ressie, see where it tells you to go (aisle or counter) and follow their instructions.
BTW, I have used coupons on the aisle, no problem.
The discount, btw, is good in Tampa too. :)

I've used the Entertainment coupon 3 times on the Aisle in the past 6 months. I just hand it to the attendent, no problem. The problem I had last time was when I returned the car, the computer took off my 15% Emerald Club discount and I had to go inside.

Hi was reading your postings about using coupons on the EA - will they honor both the EA discount and this Buena Vista coupon? Would like to know - we could end up saving more. Also, is it more expensive to rent through Disneyvacations. com than directly thru National?
Almost forgot to ask - can you use the Entertainment coupon and the EA one tgether? Is there a problem trying to use two discounts?
Thanks. Caroline

If they confirmed the rate and you have it in writing, they will honor it.

They have not been giving any discount for Emerald Club lately. I've received 15% - 20% in the past, plus the $15 Entertainment Coupon, but the reservations I've tried for December is coming up with no discount for Emerald Club. It is still accepting the Entertainment Coupon (the Emerald Club discount was a contract #, not a coupon # so it would allow both). Disney Club contract code is coming up 20% off. Rates are still much higher than I paid for last December, so I am holding off, rates usually go down at the end of summer. I paid $107 with Emerald Club discount and $15 off Entertainment Coupon last December, it's coming up $148 with Disney Club and $15 off Entertainment Coupon now.

I am sure you have answered this many tmes over but when i called National this afternoon - i managed to get the rate down for our rental. Good news!! She has us reserved for a full size on the EA - since we are arriving so late at night - does this mean that we can select any car there of our choosing? Are we restricted to the full size? Sorry that i have not paid closer attention to past responses.

You can choose any car you want off the rows marked Emerald Aisle. There could be vans, premium cars, convertibles, suv's or there may be just full size. If there's none to your liking, you can also check the full size aisle since that's what you reserved. If choices are limited, check with an attendant, sometimes they can find something better for you.

I just reread the coupon and it says "when you book through DisneyVacations.com" I did not book through them as we are DVC members and book through member services.

When I booked online I clicked on the disneyvacations.com link to book the car. All it did was take me to the regular National reservation page and insert the coupon code. I didn't actually complete this reservation as I wanted to log in with my EA number first so I could get EA service. I just keyed the coupon code into the reservation through the EA screen and still got the discount on my confirmation.

I would guess disneyvacations.com will get "credit" for the booking (whatever that may mean) since you're using their coupon code.
