National Parks - pics and stories

We loved Mammoth Cave. It was a little scarey at times, but lots of fun. We loved all of them that we've been to in Arizona. So beautiful. The kids loved to go to the battlefields, but some of those junior ranger badges were hard to earn, so we helped a little. Here are some pictures of my dd junior ranger hat. She has so many pins, she decided to pin them on the hat and hang the hat on her wall. Some parks don't have a junior ranger program, and some gave patches instead of the badge.

Wow, you collect badges like I collect Disney pins.

Here's a few from our most recent trip, which was to Yosemite.

This was during our snow shoe hike up at Badger Pass. We were trying to hike to Dewey Point (an 8 mile hike). I quickly found out that I was not in as good shape as I had believed. We made it halfway there and instead had a 4 mile hike to nowhere. We still had fun playing in the snow. It's been years since we saw snow last.

I was completely surprised by the constant, amazing scenery at Yosemite. Wherever you turned, there were amazing views. It was near impossible to take a bad picture.
