So who here is in National Honor Society or is being inducted this year?

I'm being inducted into NHS and Spanish National Honor Society tonight. It's a really big deal at my school.

Is it a big deal at your school? What was your ceremony like? How many kids made it?

Last year I did not make it into NHS, this year I did.

I'm not sure when the induction ceremony is, but I'm just so glad I made it. I was so upset when I did not make it. I also am not sure how big the ceremony is, I guess I'll just have to see about that. But it's kinda weird because I was chosen as a Senior and I feel like I'm not a member because they haven't had a meeting since the announcement of members.

At my school, because it is smaller (200 kids in the whole school) it is not as big of a deal. Pretty much anyone who tries hard and does a lot of ECs in school can make it I think. I didn't make it my junior year because my class is so competitive (top seven all have 3.9 or above GPAs) This year I took on a lot more leadership positions, and I think that's how I got in.

When I was in highschool school I was in a few.

National Honor Society (junior & senior year)
English Honor Society(junior & senior year)
Law Honor Society (junior & senior year)
Mu Alpha? Math Honor Society (junior & senior year)
Rho Kappa? or Social Science Honor Society (senior year)

It was a pretty big deal at my school. I held a board position in all of them my senior year, except for English Honor Society. It was fun, we had a lot of social events and helped me prepare for college as far as time management went.

I was in Junior National Honor Society in 8 and 9 grade. From 10th grade until now I've been in National Honor Society and since the beginning of last school year I've been in the National Technical Honor Society.

For both you have to be nominated by a teacher and keep up an average of above around 3. something.. like 3.6 or 3.75 I think.

For the technical one, it's very rare to be inducted at my school. I was one of two to be in it.

For the High School one, it's not very hard to get in the group. Or at least it wasn't. I'm not sure about now.

I am in the National Honor Society. I was inducted this year along with 5 others =)

I did not make it in highschool, I had a 4.10 GPA but since i didnt do EC i didnt get it. BUt I made it in college, its called National Society of Collegiate Scholars. (NSCS)

I'm in NHS. They make such a big deal about it at my school. There aren't many kids and at the ceremony they read a bio of the students. I will say that mine was the coolest. well maybe not.

I'm in NHS. I made it in the first year I could, sophomore going on junior?
It's a big deal when it first goes out, but after that we only have about 7 meetings a year.

They usually accept about 9 people a year, and the ceremony is small and at our school with some other organizations. It's not that big of a deal.

It was definitely not a big deal at my school. They let anyone in. But its great that its actually an honor at your school, congrats to everyone who got in!

My induction ceremony was kinda cool, acutally. They did NHS first, and there were 30 of us. Out of those 30, 22 (I believe) got special scholorship awards. I wasn't one of them, unfortunately.

They did Foreign Language Honor Societies after NHS. Italian was first (5 members), then French (4 members), and then Spanish (probably about 30-35 members). Each FLHS accounted for 10% (roughly) of the total number of students that take the respective language.

They made a big deal of it out at my school. We had preliminaries (scholastic record), and then an interview to actually make it in. Not everybody who was interviewed made it.

Overall, it was a nice night, and I can't wait til we do various events, such as Pennies for Patients, next year!

i got inducted into the NHS last year. They tried to make it a big deal and had a big ceremony but nobody was too into it.
