National full size trunk room

Anyone who has rented a full size from National please help. How many suitcases can you really fit in the trunk? I know the website says 3, but I can fit that in my little toyota. We are 4 adults staying for 15 nights, so we will have 2 suitcases each, some are large. We can probably fit 3 in the back seat stacked up between us, so we would need to fit at leat 5 in the trunk. Mini van is too expensive. Our plan if we cannot fit all luggage in car is to have 1 person go on the mears. We have done this other years when renting a compact. The full size car is so reasonable we thougt we might all squash in. Thanks.

Most full size cars average 16-18 cf. Tons of room. The largest, I believe is the Impala. It held luggage for 5 people without any problem.

I rented a Grand Prix with 3 friends in April. We each had a large suitcase and a smaller one. We got it all in except for one bag, we put that in the middle of the back seat. The Impala trunk is very large, I rented one once and literally had to get into the trunk to reach a liter of Sprite that rolled to the back when we went grocery shopping.

We got a free upgrade to full size when there were no intermediates available. Had a Buick - the trunk was huge and more than enought for three adults and two kids on a week trip.

Usually in the rental business their classified full size car is really an automaker's intermediate car. IE they call a taurus a full size car and a Crown Victoria a premium car.

Well, at least they are honest about the Impala, Century and Intrepid. All classified as full size by the mfg.
