National Early Return Question

We fly into MCO this Thursday, and I have a car booked through National for 1 night, returning at the Dolphin. Originally our plan was to stay offsite for 1 night prior to checking in at CSR, and I was going to return the car Friday after dropping our luggage off at the resort. But I found a great rate for the Swan, so we are now staying there the first night. I am thinking it will be easier (and avoid a parking charge) to just return the car to the Dolphin on Thursday evening after we check in at the Swan, instead of keeping it until Friday. But I am hesitant to change the reservation just in case we were to decide we want the car Friday morning. Since it is just a 1 day reservation (paid for with a free day, at that), I don't need to bother changing the reservation, do I? I can just drop the car Thursday night with no change to the cost?

Try making a dummy reservation with same day return and see what happens. Or try starting to modify your current reservation and see. Or call the National counter at the Dolphin directly and ask - but don't give them your name of reservation information, and DO get the name of the person if they say you can do it.

Also remember these two hotels charge for parking, period. If you can return the car on arrival, make sure you are not charged.

For a 1 day rental you are billed for a 24 hour rental point no matter how long you keep it be it 2hrs or 23 hrs. But if you book a 2 day rental and turn it in after keeping the car for say 26 hours you will have to pay for the full 48 hrs. Just remember you will have to pay for parking at the Swan unless you pulling up and dropping off the luggage and immediately driving the car to the Dolphin.
