I have a car reserved for the emerald reserve and I know that I go and pick out my car and drive up to the gate and then show my National card, my Credit card, my coupon and then go.. I really want a credit card free trip, when do they charge you? when you pick it up or when you drop it off.. I would rather pay cash when I drop it off but I want to know the procedure for this.. can I just hand them the cash or does it NEED To be on the card... thanks so much!

They charge it to your card when you return. They have attendents with hand held return machines in the return area that automatically charge your card. I guess you could tell the attendant that you want to to go inside and pay cash. That would involve going to the counter and standing in line. Couldn't you send a check to your credit card company as soon as you get home?

I could be see the big thing is the exchange rate, the CC companys charge alot more and a fee for converting currancy too.. so cash is better!
