I got the same e-mail, its only good through 9/20/09, if that makes a difference.

Yup, I got it too, and went to make a new reservation and the rates are higher than what I got with the $20 coupon. The $40 coupon with all of the different contract id's gets me a $14 higher final rate than the $20 coupon one!

Don't kid yourself! National knows exactly what they're doing!

We got the same thing too. We are picking up on 8/14 -- so can't use it. It does say that your rental must BEGIN within those dates. Hopefully someone else can make use of it.

My dates are for September 17 - 27. It worked for me. I got a full size for 11 days total $286.32. Not bad, but not great either.

I used the $40 ND1881JDK code for our 9 days Aug 29 - Sept 7 and total came to $265. Best rate I've seen to date. Does anyone know if we have to produce the coupon or is it just an ecoupon that doesn't need to be handed in?

I used the Continental Airlines code (5007160) and the ND1881JDK coupon and got a full-size car Sept 19 to Sept 26 for $171.06.
