National - Disney club coupon

Has anyone used the new National DC coupon successfully? Do you absolutely need to include it when booking or can you present it at the time you pick up the car? I have a really good rate for full-size EA using the old Disney Club code (made it last October) I hate to tamper with it just to save $20. I might call National directly to see if they can apply it to my existing reservation. When I try to book a new reservation.........I can sometimes get a lower daily rate but I can't beat the $169.99 weekly rate. It seems when the daily rate goes down, the weekly rate jumps up. And, that site is so quirky......I never get the same answer twice! I am traveling 4/14 - 4/23.

When you book/reserve the car, you need to include the DC contract ID and the coupon code to get the rate/savings. You cannot get the coupon savings just by presenting the coupon when you pick up the car.

You will need to present the coupon and your Disney Club card to the agent as you leave the garage with the car.

I always make a brand new reservation (leaving the old one alone) to see if I can get a better rate. If the "new" reservation (even using a coupon) isn't better than the old one, I just don't complete the "new" reservation and keep the old one. Sounds like that is what you are doing. You may already have the best rate possible for your dates.

i just had this dilemma. what i did was modify the existing reservation so the i could use the $20 coupon. the problem when you modify is that you get bumped to the counter if you had EA. when that happened, i just emailed national with my dismay and they change it back to EA with no problem.

I just called the Emerald phone number and the reservation person was able to do it for me over the phone. I'm pretty excited!

I'm trying to book a car rental through National with my DC discount. where can I find this $20 coupon? Tried searching on the DC site, but had no luck. TIA

It's in the Disney Club News, January issue No. 18 (came in the mail). ~~
