National - Confirm your rental!

I made a reservation back in Jan for our upcoming July trip. I got a great rate - $282 after fees/taxes for 10 days using just the regular Emerald code. I decided to bring up the confirmation on their website today to just take a look at it and found that the price had suddenly become $506!!

I immediately called National and after getting hung up on 3 times and put on hold several more, I am told they are going to be updating my ressie to the original quoted price. They tried telling me that the reason was because I modified the ressie. I had made this ressie back in Dec and modified the dates in Jan but $282 was the modified rate. Every detail on my confirmation email matches theirs except the price. I had to read every line item off to the rep so that she could adjust the ressie - I offered to email her the confirmation but she said she didn't have that option. Really??

I have used National religiously for our WDW trips for years but not too happy with them today. Just thought I would share in case this happens to someone else!

WOW 282 seams high! How long are you renting for and when is your trip?

We are going for 10 days at the end of July. Trust me, $282 is low! Everything is $500 -$700 now. Sooo glad I made the ressie back in January.

Did you print-screen* the reservation with the original price at the time you made the reservation and again any time you modified it?

* A strongly recommended procedure that varies from one computer to the next and requires more than pressing the Prt-Scrn button.

Glad you caught this before you got there and rented. I've only seen this happen once in all of the years renting through them and it happened to others on the board, not us. Seems there was a code that folks were using that took all of the fees off and National caught up with it and modified everyones reservation. Hope you get this sorted out, but remember to also watch the last minute specials in case some comes out for you. I'm renting in August and the rates are so high, I'm just sitting back waiting to see if they get better....also I do have a backup with Budget too. Good luck.

I got a rate of $282 for the last week of July for Budget so that makes me feel better that others are getting the same rate for that time of year. I booked mine in March.
