I got a call today from my brother that there is an email going around that purports to be from National City Bank asking you to "clarify" certain of your account info. Of course NCB wouldn't do this, it is a fraud.

But it looks pretty real, and people are getting cleaned out.

So, if you bank there, don't get taken. (NCB is obviously already on this, the lawyers were doing their thing today.)

There are a bunch from Chase going around as well....I don't even have an account or credit card with Chase, and they keep wanting me to confirm my information :sad2:

The rule of the internet age is this: Never click on any link in an unsolicited email to input personal information. NO, I mean NO legitimate bank or company is going to send blanket emails asking people to click on a link and enter personal information.

Even when I get an email from Amazon, or other type place when I order something, I don't go through their link. I will open up a secure browser, and type in their website...then go to "My account". That way, I know that I am not being steered to a false phishing site.
