National Car Rental ?

I've been reading the running thread about the different cars that are available on the Emerald Aisle. The National that we have used for our last two trips does not have this option. We are thinking of switching to another National that does have this option. Can someone tell me how this works? Do I reserve an Intermediate car and then chose whatever car I want on the Emerald Aisle? How often do they have minivans? Can I use the coupons and codes for the Intermediate? In your experience, what is the best time and day to see a variety of cars on the EA? Any advice you can give us is appreciated....

I don't know what you mean by switching to another National.

If you reserve an Intermediate as an Emerald Club member, youj have the choice of going to the Emerald Aisle and choosing a car. I have not seen a minivan in the aisle in the 3 years we have been going to MCO. Maybe at other locations, that might happen, but you can't count on it at all.

What I have seen in the EA are mostly Intermediates but with a few Full Size, a couple pick up trucks, a couple what might be SUVs - Pontiac Aztec and Jeep Liberty.

I usually come in at around noon and there have always been this type of variety and usually a lot of cars. We usually arrive on a Friday or Saturday.

You can used codes and coupons on the intermediate cars if you find coupons and codes that include that car class, which is very frequently.

"Emerald Club members now have two options when reserving a car: Emerald Aisle Service and Emerald Reserve Service.

With Emerald Aisle Service, you reserve an Intermediate (similar to midsize) car and when you arrive, you go straight out and choose any available car from the "Emerald Aisle." All of the Emerald Aisle cars will be at least Intermediate size -- you may also find full size and specialty cars, which you can take at no extra charge. The Emerald Aisle option is only available to Emerald Club members who reserve an Intermediate car."

I have yet to see a minivan on the aisle, if you need one, you should book one. You can use codes and coupons just like any other rental. there is no preferable time, depends on who is leaving and who is arriving.

To make your reservation for EA sign on to the Emerald Club login and go from there.

What I meant to say was that the National Car Rental that we have been using (Akron-Canton Airport) does not have Emerald Aisle as an option there. So, we thought about switching to Cleveland Hopkins airport where National has an Emerald Aisle.
