National @ Car Care Center... Pick Up Reservation?

I've looked and can't find anything recent, so thought I would throw this out there...

We're flying in next week, and my friend and I have both rented cars for pick up at the CCC with National. I've seen conflicting advice on when to call them to arrange for a pickup at our resort (we're staying at SSR in the Treehouses). I've seen anywhere from 1 week in advance to 1 day (and don't think about calling earlier).

Any feedback would be most welcomed...

I've always just called 1-2 hours before I wanted to be picked up. They usually show up within the hour.

I called to asked if they could come in 2-3 hours and was told they could be there in 20 minutes (I think the shuttle just happened to be near by). Once we got there, however, it took almost an hour standing in line. Only 2 staff at the counter, and one was with a customer for over 1/2 hour.
