Playing around with contract numbers and coupons at National, I found that using the old DC code still works for a reservation put in for July of 2004. This is 20% off, or about $50.

If I book it, and print out the confirmation, will they honor the price? I know the DC officially ends 12/31/03, so I don't know why the coupon is still being accepted. The price I got is better than anything else I worked out so far... $247 for a full size for 8 days, but I'm still hoping for better.

So, should I book it?:headache:

I have been using the old DC code all year. Used it at least 4 or 5 times and never had an issue.

Wish I knew. I've used the code this year, but still have a card that is current through the end of the year. I've definitely been asked to show my card at various National sites throughout the country.

The thing that is odd about all this is that the National reservation site still allows the use of the DC code for reservations made for 2004. I tried to use a contract code for AMEX that I know expires December 31 and it rejected it. Mary from Mousesavers says that she does not recommend using the DC code for 2004 reservations but there are many others who claim that they can't reject a reservation for which you have a confirmation. It seems to me that National needs to wake up and adjust their system to not accept reservations using the DC contract code for 2004.

I have yet to be asked at MCO, which is a good thing, cause I lost my card. :)

Cookie,
Hush!!!! They might hear you. :) They accepted the code for my reservation in Jan. According to the station manager at MCO if it accepts the number for the reservation, they have to honor it.

Oh goodie! I went back and was able to bring the rate down to $207 with a double upgrade coupon from the Entertainment Book. I am still hoping for a better rate before we go, but at least this is better than a $400 reservation.

I printed out the confirmation pages too. I think that if their computer system accepts it, then they should honor it. :headache:
