Our rate for a mini van from the 20 - 27 was $340ish.... I think they charge out of control for each extra day beyond a week!

Just wanted to post today that my National rate for April 24-May 7th finally dropped today. I've not seen a drop for the months I've had this reservation. Finally, it dropped $40.

I'm paying $206.47 (before taxes) for a TWO WEEK rental -- full size/executive aisle. TOTAL $294. That makes the total less than $150 a week. I've checked some other dates and there have been some drops for early May too.

As always, I'm using 5007160 and coupon/$40 code: ND1881JDK

If anyone knows of any better codes, please post them.

I hope they drop soon, i need the free 2nd driver, and I don't think Alamo does that (going w/ my family so it's my dad and me as designated drivers, not spouses) *sigh*

I'm so with you, except for July (9-18). The best I've found is $400 thru Budget, but I'm not wild about them.

However, everywhere else is $600-$800+ depending on which code I use. Blah.

National is my preference, but, I can't get anything below $600 there.

Hopefully rates will drop.

The low rates of yesterday on National are GONE and the high rates came back. Hopefully someone saw my post from yesterday and took advantage of it -- I DID! Now my same rate is almost $100 more. It just shows how quickly the price can change.

Using 560339, I got a rate of $797.96 for a minivan, July 9-18. 5004625 gives me a rate of $473.64, which is a lot better, but still about $90 more than what I have from Budget. Darn it.

Thanks for those codes. That second is the best rate I've gotten. I'll keep trying it-maybe the rates will drop a bit more.

It's the Continental Airlines FF code. You can sign up right on their site and print the membership card. I've never flown Continental Airlines, but I did sign up just to have the card in case they ever ask (which they never have, so far and I've use this code many times).

I have since cancelled my reservation and decided to use DME...but i think the $40 off coupon was from the entertainment book.

The minivan rates re crazy this year. I have rented a minivan in the past and have not seen rates this high in years past. We are headed down 8/25-9/4 and the lowest rate with a free day coupon I have is $670..... Considering using DME even though we have never before. May try to chance their being a minivan in the aisle and make the reservation for a midsize.
