Nasty Flood here

Hey y'all,

We are having one heck of a flood here in our part of LA. The water in my yard is up to my knees and it only started raing at about 9:00 am today. Everytime a car drives by, waves surge up under our carport (which is on higher ground). The water is up to the headlights on cars that drive by, too.

It is supposed to rain continuesly like this until tomorrow or something and the water will still rise. At my school, we are sorta in a whole so, maybe no school!!!! Woot, lol. Naw, jp. I couldn't get to 2 of my classes today though because of the hard wind and rains. We were excused from 1 and the other we had to move into the main building. When I came out to go home, there was a foot deep layer of water in the parking lot that I had to wade through....(yes, very unladylike, I know! lol)

ugh. Flooding. I live in flood country. Rainy season hasn't hit too hard yet. but god, I'm dreading it.

We've never really had any floods here....this was suprising! My BF called and said that they had 5 in. of water standing in their living room, but were able to get it cleaned up.

Last night, I was in the same system that was causing your floods. It was wet, dark, and windy. Things kept getting thrown up against my house. No flooding though, at least thats a plus.

that sucks! its been raining here non stop but it only started at 5 last night. and i am really suprised we arent flooded due to the town's sewer system is all screwed up! but we have no flooding! good luck!

The water has gone down actually (at least around my house)

Here are some after pics:

My Mom and I have been outside cleaning since noon (now it is 5:00 here) and we got it all cleaned.

I heard that we may not even have school tomorrow because some roads in the parish still are underwater.

A lady who works with my dad sometimes said that the officials are saying that the water was roughly 17 in.

Well, It rained again yesterday and flooded parts of our area..again.
We got out of school at 9 because the roads were getting harder and harder to drive though. So far we've only gone 2 full days this week. My boyfriend and his family had to replace carpet in their house and I know of tons of people here who had water get in their houses.
