Nassau souvenirs?

DH and I will be on the 3 Day Wonder in December and although I would like to spend as much time as possible on the ship (since it's my first cruise, Disney or otherwise!), I do want to pick up a few little souvenirs in Nassau when we're there.

Could you please give me an idea how far off the ship we'll have to travel to find some souvenirs? Is it possible to get off for a "quick" souvenir run then return to the fun of exploring the Wonder??

Thank you for any info you can share! :D

Get off the ship and go right and you will be inundated with shops. We were there right after the the straw market burned down last year... don't know if it's been rebuilt, but there are plenty of shops between the ship and where the straw market was. There's also a Hard Rock Cafe very close by if you collect their stuff.

You could literally hop off for an hour for shopping if that's all you're interested in (which is what we did.)

Thanks so much, Pugdog007:D

Hopping off the ship for an hour to shop sounds like exactly what I wanted to do, and I'm sure DH won't argue about the short shopping trip! Thanks again for your reply!

Your welcome! One word of advice though... if you have long hair be prepared for offers from every direction to braid it. I will put my hair up in a hat if I go back :)

Ooooh, thanks for the advice. My hair length is "braidable" (what a word!) so I guess this would be the day to wear my Mickey baseball cap, huh? Thanks! ;)

How far away from the ship is Hard Rock Cafe? Also, what is the average price of t or sweat shirts? I've also heard that you can get cheap jewelry, tanzenite (sp?), etc. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it?

Also, is Atlantis worth going to for a couple hours? And, does anyone know how much their shirts are?

Thanks,

A definite YES on the Mickey hat :)

From what I remember, Hard Rock Cafe is about 3 blocks East of the ship. You can get exact directions from the Hard Rock Cafe website: www.hardrockcafe.com

Shirts were typically priced ($21-26)

We did not visit Atlantis, but it looks really cool when I've seen it on the Travel channel. I have heard though that you can't just walk up and use their pools without a room at Atlantis or across the street at Comfort Suites. Some people actually pay for a room for the day just to have access to these pools. I'm sure you could look around and visit the museum or aquariums without a room.

Have fun!!!
