Hello everyone! My husband and I do not plan to book any excursions through Disney while on the cruise. We want to take a taxi to Atlantis and walk around a bit. For one is there anything that any of you suugest to see at the Atlantis? We will probably book something with the locals, please advise.

Also I hear there is a straw market when you get off the ship that sells Disney purses. Any other items that I should not leave Nassau without thats Disney themes? Please advise!

The Disney purses are really cute. They are made of straw and hand stitched. You will see several ladies sitting in the straw market making the purses. It's interesting to watch them. They come in about 4 different sizes. Just remember you dicker with them on prices at the straw market. You will get the best buys in the late afternoon as most people are headed back to the ship. They come down farther on their prices then, because they want all the last minute sales they can get.
We did the Atlantis tour through Disney, so I cant help you with your other question. Have a greart time.
The Pirate museum, 3 blocks behind the straw market is very good also. It's a large purple building, you cant miss it. $12 per adult. lots of reading, but very good.
