For those that have booked a placeholder room at Atlantis for your stop in Nassau, do you check in when you arrive and just check out a few hours later? I'm assuming the advantage is you are getting the room cheaper than what the excursion would cost through DCL, but what does having a room include?

I got an offer for a free night at Atlantis through one of my hotel partners, and thought I had seen this strategy mentioned here before. Thanks in advance.

We did this in February and are doing it again on our cruise this month. You check in when you arrive, and you don't need to physically check out. They just bill your CC for any incidentals (they don't take cash outside at the restaurants, and boats). You only need to visit the desk that one time. Then they give you your room keys, vouchers for water, and the wifi password. Then you head outside to the towel hut, get towels and wristbands for the water park. We use our Marriott reward points, so end up just having to pay resort fee and taxes.
